Rev. Fr. Daniel Poovannathil, Director of Mount Carmel Ministries, Thiruvananthapuram.Mount Carmel Retreat Center is the first retreat centre in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, which is situated at Vettinadu, Trivandrum in a beautiful hilly place. Here exists a peaceful atmosphere, which helps the one to have meditation and retreat without any distraction. At present there is full day retreat programme on every Saturdays. Rev. Fr. Daniel Poovannathil, Director of the retreat centre leads the prayers and preaches in the retreat.
Foundation stone for the Retreat Centre was laid by His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis on 1st April 2017 and was blessed and inaugurated on 8 April 2018 by His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, the Patron of the Centre.

ഞാനും പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാം. എന്റെ ഭർത്താവ് എന്നെയും മക്കളെയും പള്ളിയിൽ പറഞ്ഞു വിടും എന്നിട്ട് ജോലിക്കു പോകും. ജോലിക്കു പോയില്ലെങ്കിൽ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരുന്ന് സിനിമ കാണും കുടുംബം നോക്കും. സ്നേഹമുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലേക്ക് അടുത്തു വരുന്നില്ല. പരസ്പരം പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാം🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

ഞങ്ങൾ മണ്ണാർക്കാട് കത്തോലിക്ക പള്ളി ഇടവകയിലാണ്. ഇവിടെ 2 കോളനിക്കാർ ഉണ്ട്. തൊട്ടടുത്ത് ഞങ്ങൾ 5,8 വീട്ടുകാർ ഉണ്ട് 10 മിനിറ്റ് നടന്നാൽ മഠം പള്ളി കുറേ ഇടവകക്കാർ. മക്കളും ഭർത്താവും ജോലിക്കു പോയിക്കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അച്ചന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേട്ടോണ്ട് ആണ് ഞാനും അമ്മയും പണികളെല്ലാം എടുക്കുന്നത്. ആത്മീയമായി വളരാനും ദേശത്തിനു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാനും കഴിയുന്നു. കഷ്ടതയിലും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലും അച്ചൻ മാരുടെ പ്രസംഗം ഉപദേശം വചനം ഇതൊക്കെയാണ് മനസിനു ശക്തി തരുന്നത്. സ്വന്തമായി വീടു വേണം എന്ന് പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാറില്ല. ഭർത്താവും മക്കളും ഞാനും നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹം മുഴുവനും നിത്യജീവൻ പ്രാപിക്കണേ എന്നാണു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാറ്. കർത്താവിനെ അറിയാത്തവർ അറിയാനും പാപികൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ട് പാപത്തെ വെറുക്കുവാനും കർത്താവിന്റെ വരവിൽ ആരും കൈവിടപ്പെട്ടു പോകാതിരിക്കാനും ദൈവത്തോട് സഹായം ചോദിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. മറ്റൊരു സഭയിൽ നിന്നും ഞങൾ കുടുംബമായി കത്തോലിക്ക സഭയിൽ ചേർന്നതിനാൽ ബന്ധുക്കളിൽ നിന്നും പരിഹാസങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കേണ്ടി വരുന്നു. മറ്റ് എവിടെയും പോയിട്ട് കിട്ടാത്ത ആത്മീയ സന്തോഷം ഞാനിപ്പോൾ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു. സിസ്റ്റർമാരുടെ ആത്മാർത്ഥമായ പ്രാർത്ഥനയും സ്നേഹവും ലഭിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളെയും ഓർത്തു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുക വിശ്വാസികളെ🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

അച്ചാ, എന്റെ സഹോദരിയുടെ ഭവനത്തിൽ കുറെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ആണ്.. ഭർത്താവ് നല്ലൊരു മനുഷ്യൻ ആണ്.. ഏക മകൻ.. മറ്റു മക്കൾ ഇല്ല.. ഇപ്പൊൾ അമ്മായി അമ്മയാണ് പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ മുഴുവൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്....16 വർഷങ്ങളായി അവരുടെ വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ട്... പക്ഷെ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു 2 വർഷങ്ങളായി ഒന്നിന് പിറകെ ഒന്നായി പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ആണ്... അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവും ഇപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ അമ്മ പറയുന്നത് കേട്ട് എപ്പോഴും പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.. അവൻ രോഗിയും ആണ് കഴിഞ്ഞ 14 വർഷങ്ങളായി... അവൾ എന്നും അവരുടെ ഒപ്പം നിന്ന് ഒരു കുറവും കൂടാതെ ആ കുടുംബം കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നു.. വളരെ സന്തോഷം ആയി പോയിരുന്ന വീട്.. ഇപ്പോൾ അവൾ ജീവിതം മടുത്തു എന്നാണ് പറയുന്നത്.. നിരന്തരം കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തി ഇൻസുൾട്ട് ചെയ്ത്, കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളുടെ മുൻപിൽ വച്ചു പോലും ദേഷ്യവും സങ്കടപ്പെടുത്തലും മാത്രം.. അവർക്ക് ജോലിക്കായി ഒരാളെ വേണം.. അവന് അവന്റെ മമ്മിയെ മതി.. മമ്മിയുടെ പേര് പറഞ്ഞു ആണ് വീട്ടിൽ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ മുഴുവൻ.....അവൾക്ക് ഒരു ജോലിക്ക്‌പോകാൻ അനുവാദം ഇല്ല..... അവർ വിടില്ല... നീ ജോലിക്ക് പോയാൽ ശെരിയാകില്ല.. പോകണ്ട... എന്നാണ് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു കൊണ്ട് ഇരിക്കുന്നത് പ്രാര്ഥിക്കുമല്ലോ.......
