Fragata Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes

Disfrutad de esta interesante fragata a la que historia le ha dado una nueva oportunidad gracias a la recuperación de su tesoro.
En su último viaje de retorno de las Américas, fue atacada por los ingleses y hundida en la batalla del cabo de Santa María, el 5 de Octubre de 1804.
Murieron más de 260 tripulantes.
Con ella se hundió un gran tesoro, que cientos de años más tarde recuperaría del fondo del mar, Odyssey, empresa caza-tesoros estadounidense.
Después de esta recuperación, empezó otra batalla. Ésta vez en los tribunales, para reclamar el derecho español sobre el tesoro recuperado.
Un tribunal de Tampa falló a favor del Ministerio de Cultura español.
El recurso en contra de este fallo por parte de la empresa Odyssey, fue rechazado por el tribunal de apelaciones de Georgia, que dio la razón a el gobierno de España.

Tengo una duda sobre un detalle de este barco de Occre (y sobre su casi gemela Diana). ¿Cómo es posible que el farol de popa quede por encima de la botavara? En un barco real sería imposible maniobrar ese palo a izquierda o derecha (perdón, a babor o estribor): no ganarían para faroles... ¿Esto es así o con esta pregunta estoy demostrando una absoluta ignorancia sobre el tema? Agradecería que alguien de Occre me resolviese esta duda. Es un barco muy bonito y me gustaría construirlo algún día, pero por esta razón no me decido a comprarlo.

OcCre, Please also add tutorial videos of Mercedes. Specially sails and riggings part. Because on instruction guide, rigging and sail installation is not enough and is not clear. There is too much rope job to do but pictures on instruction guide is not clear. On guide we can only see the photos of parts of the ship. There is no "how to" or "where from / to" information. For example in one photo we can see lots of ropes but we can not imagine or understand which rope comes from where and where it goes. sails has got same problem. And on the web, there is not much pictures, information about mercedes's installation. if you dont have tutorial video, please send me detailed guide. I also sent my request from your web site. This is not my first ship, for example I finished Bluenose II couple months ago but I can not go on this ship with the instruction guide which is included in the ship box.

Hello :) We will answer your email as soon as possible. In the meantime, we recommend that you watch the HMS Beagle or Terror / Essex / Buccaneer to see how it's done. It is not the same ship but the process is very similar. Please contact us when you need it. We will be delighted to help you.

well every kit comes with a plan view with numbers. Each number tells you where each rope needs to go. You can see what number corresponds to which rope in the main elements table. It comes with name, number, quantity, etc.
