One of the main things that I admire about Fran? She NEVER tried taking Sarah's place. Instead, she acknowledged how Sarah was Maxwell's first love and understood that she was the biological mother of Maggie, Brighton, and Gracie. Not once did she EVER try filling Sarah's shoes. Fran respected her memory and kept being herself around the family. Then, when she officially became involved with Maxwell, she STILL didn't try overcoming Sarah. Fran was a respectful woman! 😊

No to mention in the episode “Sara’s parents” Maggie, Brighton and Gracie told their grandparents that Fran always made sure they never forget their deceased mother by watching old videos of her whenever they missed her and lighting a Yahrzeit candle on her birthday to commemorate her soul.

Fran did wonders with Maxwell's children. She didn't fall for Brighton's tricks and later knew how to give tough love. Plus, she genuinely took interest in the children and gave them the care and affection they were seriously lacking since their mother died.

To address the set change: This is the pilot episode, so the set was a little different. When a pilot is screened by the network, they critique everything: Actors, story, set, and give suggestions. So, it isn't uncommon for a set to change thanks to those suggestions - even after the network approves the series.

The set and set decoration is often changed, as well, to improve the flow, eliminate stubborn shadows and any blocked camera angles, provide more obvious marks for the actors to hit, and allow a camera to traverse the set where needed (as: for "following" shots and the occasional over-the-shoulder view). A pilot is one thing, but once the show gets picked up the technical folks get serious about what will make their jobs easier week to week and give them maximum flexibility.

That happened a lot in older sitcoms. It doesn't really happen anymore. They mostly re-film the pilots today so maybe that's why. Also some shows didn't change their set until the 2nd season as if nothing happened, like Fresh Prince.

One thing I really loved about the show is that despite Maxwell clearly crushing over her in the first season he never just objectified her like here he didn't want to hire her just for her looks, he was actually concerned about his children and never even thought it could be a flirt. Fran always been the nanny because she was surprisingly competent and basically a good mother.

I binged watched ALL the episodes of The Nanny and I must confess I almost cried of sadness in the last episode. It was so much fun and I laughed hard sometimes at the jokes and the punts thrown by everybody... what a ride it was watching The Nanny. Sitcoms like this one are a non-existent thing in today's television and I miss that.

She took care of them like a mother would ... and one of the things that I admire the most about Fran was that she NEVER tried taking Sarah's place. She understood that Sarah was Maxwell's first love and that she was the biological mother of the children. She never tried filling Sarah's shoes, but respected her memory and continued being her own self around the family. 😊

Yes, I remembered in 1993 when their house was different. Probably moved to change scenery. Fran’s make up was changed too. And Maxwell’s outfits, I wore in 90’s and I still have a blue coat and beige pants in different size too.

Am I the only one who doesn't agree with this,then?I mean,after watching his film Escape(2015) alongside Owen Wilson,and plenty of Mamma Mia!trailer and Watchmojo footage,I have to say that no,I don't see any resemblance whatsoever.
