Brussels knows the anti Euro Tory brigade are gone and will in time talk to Labour and begin some sort of talks of undoing the exit of EU and maybe by the time Labour is serving it`s second term in office rejoining the single market will be achieved. But all the buisness `UK` used to have in EU pre Brexit is gone to EU buisness`s and getting back to full single market potential will take time, but at least it will have economical future. If Brexiteers think getting out was hard, well getting back what was lost will be a lot harder. Stagnation and recession times will continue for some time to come.

She, Penny Mordaunt [,I was very disappointed because I thought she had the calibre ]She should have risen above Party rancour to defend democracy from people like Farage, and Gove and Johnson, and Braverman, and Rees-Mogg, and The Euro-sceptics. It was always crap, like this rubbish about wanting their country back and this Myth that the English are the only people in Britain as the UK. That is what we need: to purge British politics of spurious patriotism and understand that the future is collaboration. And we will have to learn some of the principles of Methodism in respect to immigrants of all races and creeds, and embrace them, and love our diversity. The nurse that attended to me in hospital was a nurse first, I do not know her religion but when you are not well you know no colour, no race, no creed. When I think of her I just know she had lovely eyes and she gave me comfort. The parable of the Good Samaritan needs to be heeded, so the voice of the Turtle will be heard again in the land. And if we form a New Liberal Party the Turtle would be a suitable symbol for a party of charity.

Germany calling. I hadn't really thought about these things before. I suppose the deterioration of the UK is a gradual process when you're living there, and it only becomes glaringly obvious when you come to the EU. I'm fortunate to have benefited from the reciprocal arrangements that were in place back in the day. Sadly, these opportunities are now hard to get. My daughter came to the UK under the Erasmus scheme, like tens of thousands of other European students, but that programme of course got axed by the Johnson government, and the UK, with its sky high tuition fees, is pretty much irrelevant to EU students now.

The UK has three alternatives into the future. 1.Rejoin the EU and regain growth and some of that prosperity we though 'normal' that Tory austerity erroded and was blamed on the EU. 2. Become a subsidary to the USA, taking trade regulations and standards without any representation to enable at least some increase in trans-Atlantic trade and some growth, but in effect become what Brexit was sold as not being, the UK becomming a 'vassal state'. 3. Continue on the present path, of manged decline bit by bit, and becomming increasingly irrelevant and vulnerable. Them's the choces! Not the Brexit Britannia that was sold to just enough of the demos, who actully thought that we were some kind of held back EU, China or USA equivalent; that would restore the power of Empire!!! I'd say it's quite the opposite: we took them very seriously. They wanted out, we respected their will and let them out of the EU. We assumed they were mature enough to understand and accept the pros and cons of Brexit. They themselves told us they knew what they were voting for. So we took them at their word: they knew what they were doing, it was all deliberate, rational and planned. I just hope we continue to treat them like mature and responsible people, who wouldn't go back on a commitment and respect the results of the referendum in the future. If they say they want back in, we should tell them: "No, no. There's no need for that. We respect you too much. Like responsible adults, you made your choice and we understand and respect that. We don't doubt for a second that you knew exactly what you were doing. So... full steam ahead, Britain! Good luck with your Brexit!" And we should give them what they ask for, to show our support. "Oh, you want a No Deal Brexit? Absolutely, let's burn the TCA! Always happy to support the will of the British people. You want out of the ECHR/Council of Europe? Don't worry, we'll close the door after you."

Fixing the problem of economic migration from failed states by the route of organised people smuggling involves the whole Western world (Europe, North America and Australasia) and has zilch to do with being in the EU. But the Brexit idiots did not just ruin the UK economy in the short, medium and long term (ie there will never be any Brexit benefit), they also with their cavalier attitude to agreements they signed and serial lying had burned all trust - and that’s with not just with the EU and EEC, but also with the US which realised that the UK was making itself irrelevant and destroying its own economy and therefore has instead turned to ramping up its ties with France, Germany, Poland and others. Others like Australia regard the UK with contempt as witnessed by the terms of the UK-Australia Trade Agreement which favour Australia so much they will destroy much of UK agriculture.

I want to take his opportunity to correct a misapprehension under which the people of Clacton appear to be labouring It was not, repeat not the thesis of Galileo That the Sun took a detour from its usual course down the alimentary canal of Nigel Farage to emerge bloody but unbowed in his underpants, nor that when he donned the same underpants it caused an eclipse of the Sun.. I make this point dispassionately because, a critic as I am, of the Inquisition in the Seventeenth Century even so they were not as credulous as critics would argue, and that even in Seventeenth Century Italy reason had asserted itself sufficiently as not to believe in absurdity, I cannot say the same for the people of Clacton who seem to cherish that afore said illusion and that the Sun manifested itself at Mr Farage's sarth end I on the other hand favour immigration because the people in small boats have rather better intellects and higher intelligence than the people that voted for Reform. It takes all sorts to make a world but only ignorant and stupid people lie you to end it.

As a British Veteran who has lived in Germany for the last 11 years, I do not get to the UK as often as I would like. Last week I visited my Family in Cambridgeshire for the first time in over two years. Wow! Everything is looking so tired and worn out, roads, overgrown verges, weeds everywhere, buildings not maintained. I didn’t use the NHS but I assume it has the issues we all read about. Most surprising was how tired the people looked, it must be so wearing, and the Government and others lie to them daily (check out the UK and its real influence and manufacturing output of renewable energy sources. It is at least 35 years behind Dänemark and Germany, not world leading), so no one really knows what truth looks like anymore. Such a shame. 😢

"We have made ourselves irrelevant". We have high levels of poverty including children without beds. High levels of homelessness eclipsing the US; we are just better at hiding it by spending huge sums to put families in bed and breakfast accommodation. We have just 100 main battle tanks. The latest report says we are unable to fulfil our role in NATO and we are unable to defend ourselves. We have 72,000 troops who could fit into Old Trafford with ease but would leave huge gaps in Wembley. Our Navy just commissioned two aircraft carriers for which we have insufficient F35B Lightening 2, so we have had to ask the US to supply half the rota. Oh and one of them leaks after a few days at sea. The list of problems is too long to contemplate. We are failing. We have to pick ourselves up and show we can be successful, relevant and necessary before the EU would contemplate having us join any of EFTA, EEA, Single Market or EU. It is going to be a tall order, we need to keep the Tories out of it as they have a destructive zeal second to none.

Keir Starmer has _nothing_ to say about BRexit other than he is insistent that the UK will not rejoin _any_ of a Customs Union, the Single Market, or full EU membership _in his lifetime!_ It is no good looking to the Labour Party for help with farming (except for the odd platitude maybe). Furthermore, the EU is not interested in twiddling at the edges of the TCA, they have a lot of problems on their collective plate (not the least being the proto-fascists slowly grabbing power). British farming is on an inevitable long decline, and with imports from half a world away to feed the country, UK food security will be a joke in a few years.

Putin wants a weak UK. One less party he has to worry about in his intention of restoring the Russian Empire. A UK outside of the European Block is irrelevant and, thus, presents no trouble. Hence why he favours and even aids Farage and his party and was an instrumental part in the background of the machinations that brought forth Brexit. This has been in preparation for quite some time. By removing the UK from the EU, Putin and his lackeys thought that they'd get rid of a potential threat by weakening the european block so that his invasion of Ukraine (first) would be met with passivity by the EU. What he underestimated was Europe's ability to endure brexit. As every specialist and expert alerted before, the UK suffered tremendously with brexit and will keep on suffering for quite a few decades but the EU didn't suffer as much as expected. They were, then, fully capable of enduring the ripple effects of a war of attrition. Putin didn't see that coming. Now, even if the english are stupid enough to vote for a pro-Russia government (Farage with Reform), it's of no consequence, because the UK is now irrelevant in world affairs and it would only serve to alienate the UK from the Western World even further and put them in the same bag as Russia, China, Iran, Afghanistan, etc. Putin's plan - which did had its merits - sort-of backfired. This in spite of his tremendous success in forwarding brexit.

Food safety regulations must be equal, so I don't risk buying food from another part of europe that contains addidatives that are considered dangerous to my health in my country, or are used to keep out competition. Another reason for the 'Political monster' is as Sir Alex says; Russia and China are out to get us, and the conflict is acted out in areas of trade, technology and even space. We can compete better in unison, but it requires bureaucracy. Other areas that require bureaucracy: 1) Cooperation between law enforcement across europe. 2) Open access to all countries with an EU passport. 3) Approval of a patents covers all of europe. 4) Forcing legislation that ensures a 'One-price' on your mobile phone usage acroos europe, instead of old times when it was 10 times higher the minute you crossed the border. 5) Taxation of tech companies 6) One standard for charger plugs across all brands. it's also apparent in little things where people might say "so what", but the indicator of our irrelevance is strong. I purchased an electrical item here in Germany. Now I speak fluent German so I don't have a problem with the instructions, but what I did notice is that (by comparison to the last 30+ years) the instructions no longer have an set of pages in English anymore AT ALL! This was usually to help people to read such instructions if their language was not included (small countries etc.) as often people who speak two languages usually have English as their second language. But now you see that there are far more pages with many more languages and the English language pages have just GONE, completely!!! It really looks weird. Again, it's only an instruction manual, but still, it is a very powerful silent message basically suggesting "we don't need you anymore"... and they don't ! They are making do with all the other workarounds. Cutting ourselves off like that was and is just breathtakingly stupid.

As a Polish immigrant in Canada since '92 I've watched Brexit fiasco quite closely. You know, Quebec issue etc. Somehow Russian influence never came up. That Farage guy reminds me of Chamberlain in 1938. The lies Brexiters told are so Trump like. Excellent video.
