This man, Rouhollah Khomeini, is unknown to the general public and to the French authorities. He is a religious leader of Iranian nationality, holding the rank of ayatollah, one of the highest titles of the Shiite clergy.
Arriving in France as a tourist, he is soon joined by a court of faithful who drink in his words and treat him like a living God. They are nicknamed the “Neauphle-le-Château Band”.
In three months, they will bring down a dictatorship that has been in place for several decades, invent the first “Islamic Republic” and shake the West.
