France has turned political protest into an art form. Whether it’s the cost of living, pension reforms or the rise of the far right, there aren't many nations that exhibit such dedication to dissent.
What makes France’s protest culture so unique though is the love of literature on display on the streets. Puns and poetry used to make a political point.
One French demonstrator whose commitment sets him apart is retired school teacher Jean-Baptiste Reddé, also known as Voltuan, whose activism is making waves across domestic and international media.

It’s called ‘Disruptive Democracy’. It embraces the human right to be free to protest against the ruling classes. Hopefully most of the disrupters of democracy desire to protest peacefully.

This ‘passionate protestor’ is right; there aren’t enough of us out on the streets. He’s also right about the number of issues that people ought to be protesting. In fact, there are so many that people probably feel overwhelmed by the fact that if they protested them all, they’d be on the streets 24/7 and never go home!
