The Mexican president has quickly moved to break off diplomatic ties with Ecuador after police broke into the Mexican Embassy to arrest a former Ecuadorian vice president who had sought political asylum there after being indicted on corruption charges.

Several Mexican Nationals in the embassy were injured by Ecuadorian police, also there needs to be consequences for violating a Embassy Protected by International law by the UN. If there are no consequences that gives other countries the ok to attack embassies without consequences from the International Community. Ecuador caused quite a mess and this is most likely going to affect Ecuador's international relations with other countries, especially with economics if a country like that is willing to violate international law.

@@swayjacob7778 Going up to top apex predators is always a bad idea unless they know you. But you can walk up cats, most dogs, small monkeys, etc .. and they won't attack you. If you raised a bear, lion or tiger cub they are not likely to attack you unless you cross a line with them. And these animals will be more loyal, forgiving and better friends than most people you meet on this planet. That's a fact.

We understand your plight and that's fine, but what your government did has no precedent, what if Mexico went to your country by force and arrested someine without telling you and in the process they harmed your citizens? you wouldnt like it would you? well thats whta your government did, no amount of reasoning excuses this, it broke international law like the Vienna convention among others but it clearly states that domestic laws and rules cannot be used as an excuse to invade an embassy

This reminds me that in 2008 the Colombian government decided to enter Ecuadorian territory to kill a guerrilla leader (Raúl Reyes). Colombia not only enters but bombs Ecuadorian territory, killing several guerrillas who had been living in the territory for several years. The president of Colombia at that time, Álvaro Uribe, decided not to notify Ecuadorian Rafael Correo of the operation that had been in progress for more than 4 years, because he was sure that if he notified him the operation would fail. Hinting at the relationship that the Ecuadorian government had with the illegal and terrorist group FARC at that time. I honestly don't think it will go beyond a temporary political rupture and shouting between presidents.

I used to admire this guy but all truth has come out in Ecuador and this administration is doing what Mexico wont do... fight the cartel and corruption in government... The politician is Ecuadorian and deserves to face a justice system there. Mexican cartels influence Ecuador gangs, there is a reason why Mexico tried to protect that man.
