‘Obstacle course’ for the disabled: Can Paris transport be made accessible in time for the Olympics?

But plans for the Paris public transport network have sparked concern that the temporary improvements imagined for the games are a “missed opportunity” for lasting change.

In NYC, more stations are getting elevators and/or ramps installed to be made accessible. However, Paris’ accessibility is even worse. There are far more non-accessible stations and there are no plans to install elevators or ramps. Transit agencies around the world have to do more for the disabled, since their disabilities can’t be cured.

But transit authorities are not going to spend millions on access for a very small if unfortunate minority that use wheelchairs, otherwise it would have been done years ago..........!!!!!.

Paris accessible?…Too late. The US cities have been working on accessibility for 50+ years
