Are we witnessing the final act in a decades-old conflict, or the start of a new chapter of hardship and strife? Ethnic Armenians are fleeing Nagorno-Karabakh by the thousands after last week's lightning-fast capture of that enclave. They are dismissing guarantees for their safety by Azerbaijan's president, in part because of a long history of bloodshed and ethnic cleansing by both sides.

Nakhjavan (historical Armenian land), where two dictators met, was given to Azerbaijan by communist government, to please turkey, as an Armenian autonomous region (not to escalate argument). Now, not a single Armenian left there and all historic sites were erased. People of Nagorno-Karabakh fought, not to repeat the history of Nakhjavan. The ethnic cleansing was always the goal of Azeri government.

The land corridor between Nakhchivan in Western Azerbaijan and Eastern Azerbaijan needs full Armenian consent if it’s to go through sovereign Armenian territory. There are also roads on the Iranian side (south of the Aras River) which could be used as Erdogan mentioned with Iranian willingness. However, that’s another thorny issue since Iran and Azerbaijan haven’t gotten along well starting around the 2020 war and even before that with Iranian accusations of Israeli forces (military aid) in Azerbaijan. Both Iran and India have been arming Armenia through the shared Iran-Armenia border. Strange how the Islamic Republic gets along better with Armenia than Azerbaijan. Fact is that more Azeris live in Iran (specially northwest adjacent to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Iraq) than in the country of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has a population of 10 million and there are 15 million Azeris in Iranian Azerbaijan.

The right to self rule is some how mired between geo politics and interests of major global powers. If right is given to one group of people than it would have to be given to other people as well. We have Kashmir, spain's basque, Scotland, Manipur, Northern Ireland and many more. So rule based champions keep it simple... keep the status quo. This usually results in violence which one side calls terrorism and other as freedom fighters. Excessed are committed by both sides in such scenarios. France can also go back to its bad behavior in the 1st Vietnam war, Algerian independence movement and occupation of many territories outside Europe which historically are not French. So its really up to the UN to now act properly after more than its 75 years of existence to work properly and get rid of the VETO system which is the main virus which is causing its non working.

The rhetoric coming out of Azerbaijan is hollow. There has been no food delivered to the enclave since they started the blockade. They have been in control for over a week, and they still have not brought any food or medicine to the area. Following Turkey's example from 1915' Apparently the Armenian's are the only people on earth who do not require food to survive. Or Azerbaijan doesn't want them to survive in Karabakh. What is that American talking about?" There is no talk of that corridor being annexed by Azerbaijan" He is living in a fantasy if he thinks they won't use it as a pretext to seize a chunk of Armenia. He is on record as stating that Southern Armenia belongs to Azerbaijan Zanguzur as they call it. He even said that they will take it by force. If this is the level of US intelligence on the subject, Armenia would be better off allying itself with Iran. At least they have said they will not tolerate any changes to Armenian territory. Look at what happened to the other country in the region that was hoodwinked into thinking the US was it's friend, Georgia. If you have no natural resource the US classes as important, they will do nothing to help you if you are invaded.

American ambassador to Azerbaijan has been paid millions from Azerbaijan that’s a know fact. He is there to insist that Armenia has to open the Zangezur corridor that will completely destroy Armenia. He does indeed. His words on the Zangezur corridor were telling. He is either dumb or willfully negligent to ignore Azerbaijan's statements about this region being part of Azerbaijan, and how he will take it by force if necessary.. The bit where he defended the Azeri president, when it was mentioned that he said he will "chase the Armenian's like dogs". " well he hasn't said that for three months". This panel is about 3 Azerbaijani perspectives vs 1 Armenian, and one unbelievably gullible "neutral" moderator. Most interesting, Mathew Bryza, former US ambassador to Baku, married to a Turkish-Azerbaijani, is the strongest proponent of Azerbaijani dictatorship. I wonder how France24 even considered inviting him. He is a known anti-Armenian figure. The political system in Azerbaijan is authoritarian, as elections are not free and fair, political opponents are repressed, civil rights are limited, human rights abuses are widespread, corruption is rampant, and power is concentrated in the hands of President Ilham Aliyev and his extended family. Azerbaijan is ranked 'Not Free' by Freedom House in its annual Freedom of the Press survey with a score of 79 out of 100.

Even the Russians will depart cause they have nothing to do with the peace they are there for. Border will be closed for good barrier will be deployed until further orders. Than god peace will prevail. France will be sad cause they created the problem by cutting Azharbaijan and created Armenia so they fight with each other forever.

By the way, Napoleon wasn't even French; he had seized control of France simply because France was so weak. France was never a GREAT power unlike the Germans or the British or like China now, the French have always been wannabes. Here in India, we salute the once mighty and still GREAT German (including Austrian German) people and we salute China for having worked hard and become the mightiest power that this world has ever seen.
