Binky was always insecure, bullying was a way to keep the attention on other people's issues rather than his own. Francine just seems to have a dog-eat-dog worldview where everyone has to fight.

Because in _Arthur's Glasses_ , when Francine starts calling Arthur 'four-eyes', he starts off by defending Arthur by saying: "People need glasses to see, Francine." But then at lunch, he takes two cups, puts them over his eyes, and said to a couple of other second graders: "Look everyone, I'm Arthur!" and they began to laugh with Buster. Making Arthur upset and walked away mad from the cafeteria. *(Glad the problem was solved when Arthur realized his favorite actor who plays Bionic Bunny wears the same glasses as him, decides not to let Francine's teasing get the better of him, and told his friends that their favorite superhero wears glasses too and that encourage everyone that people who wear glasses shouldn't be made fun of because they need it to see, read small print, and can be used for fashion; according to Francine wearing her green movie star glasses the next day.)* Next, in _Arthur's Tooth_ , after Francine, Binky, Muffy, Buster and The Brain were squirting juice out of their tooth space, they went up to Arthur to see if he can do it but failed, they all laughed with Francine after she called him a baby again. *(Again being solved when after he comes back from the dentist and everyone finding out that kids lose all their baby teeth, until they reach the age of nine and everyone grows tired of Francine calling Arthur a baby.)* Then, in _Arthur's Underwear_ , when Buster and Arthur were at the laundromat after Buster used hypnosis on Arthur to help him with his nightmare problem, Arthur told Buster to promise not to tell anyone about it and Buster said he won't by saying "Cross my heart and hope to die", as he did promise. But the next day, Buster broke the promise and told a few people about it then claimed that everything he tried to help Arthur wasn't working, and he needed "advice" to figure it out and he just flat out told Francine, Muffy, and The Brain. *(Problem being solved after Arthur rips his pants, Binky leading Arthur to the kitchen to see Mrs. Macgrady, so she can fix Arthur's pants and tells him an old saying "A banana without its peel is still a banana.", meaning that kids even grown-ups make mistakes and get into situations every day but we're still the same person as we are. Arthur is still the same kind and smart boy he is, whether with or without his pants.)* Finally, when Arthur was watching the Love Ducks by himself, Francine and Buster came by to check on Arthur and saw him watching it, but Arthur was trying to cover up his secret by saying he was watching it with Kate and went to go get her, because he thought she escaped but she was getting her diaper changed. Then Buster returned Arthur's book he let him borrow but when he and Francine left, he quacked to mock on how Arthur watches The Love Ducks and Francine laughed at the "joke". Next day at school, she reveals Arthur's secret to the class and pulls out a rubber duckie to make fun of him again. *(But the problem was solved again when it was after school, Arthur and Buster were heading to the Sugar Bowl for milkshakes to try and cheer up Arthur but came across a music/TV store where the T.V. was showing The Love Ducks. Buster then got interested in it, to where he bought the CD, watched the show, and got a T-shirt of the Love Ducks by saying it was the 'Weirdest but coolest experience he ever saw' to Francine.)*

Oh shoot I completely forgot about that. Although I'm pretty sure it happened after that episode, but then again that's only after he gets diagnosed with asthma so it's possible he had it before.

I always figured Francine just has a very fighty way of understanding the world. Muffy has the world in the palm of her hands and feels she deserves it. I feel like Francine is psychologically trying to learn from Muffy how to be a "winner," and has the gruffness to accept the indignity of being the supporting friend to a snob.

Honestly, most of the characters had their moments. Buster was always a nice guy (when he wasn't carried away following the crowd). Fern always had a nice balance of being independent, but quiet. George was always quiet and in his own world (I really commend the producers for picking him on the Autism episode, especially when Brain fits the stereotype better). But even Arthur could be harsh sometimes, and Francine, DW, Muffy, and Binky were usually mean for different reasons. Most of the other characters could be found saying something harsh sometimes.

Eh, some bullies are just bored and don't know how to express themselves to kids they "like". Reasoning typically is shoddy Also Francine at the very least improved. I can't say the same for Muffy

@@SonikkuAtrue Yeah Francine was really mean in the early seasons but in the later ones she got really nice. Muffy on the other hand was pretty mean the entire show's run lol (well, aside from that one episode where she showed lots of concern for her butler who went missing)

Birth order tends to influence personality. While the oldest often ends up a trailblazer, the youngest often feels like they have to fight for attention and especially credit. Not always, but often. They often end up more combative, especially since they often get away with more than older siblings at a similar age.

There was the episode when she was ashamed of her dad's profession as a garbage man. Her family seems low income compared to the others, her parent couldn't afford a bike for her and got her dad's old bike. She definitely acted funny with Arthur because she had a crush on him, that's why she got mad when Muffy wanted to square dance with him.

I feel both Francine and Muffy have a disordered way of looking at how to be nice. Francine tries to improve things by being a drill sergeant all the time, and Muffy thinks helping others means making them more like herself. But in their misguided ways they mostly mean well, and in any case it is their default thought process.

@kittygaillot2286 😩 The teenage years are the hardest for some of us. Especially girls. I’ll say my most difficult teen years was high school at age 16. I attended an inner city school that was not exactly the safest in North St. Louis City, Missouri. Most girls had an animosity toward each other. Other girls got pregnant. You couldn’t have anything nice at that school because your stuff would be gone. My M&M’s pencil pouch, umbrella, and calculator disappeared. Another girl was crying because her purse disappeared. And another girl’s flip phone disappeared. So I was going to school with a bunch of Thieves. The kids and adult faculty staff figures were not the nicest at the school. It was a mean school environment where cafeteria fights were the norm and verbal altercations among some of the kids and the teachers broke out in the classroom. I was absolutely sure my Child Development class teacher hated me. We used to get mad at her and back talk her when she talked to us like we was her kids. I was sure this teacher hated teenaged kids in general. She didn’t like us; we didn’t like her either so it worked both ways. High school was also the years I grew to find adults just as annoying as peers my age at the time.

Personally, I find Francine easier to deal with than DW. I actually have a sister that's always been a fair bit like Francine, probably part of it. She can be harsh, but she thinks she's helping. I have a much harder time with people like DW. I find their entitlement unacceptable. At least people like Muffy want to give, they just think that making others more like themselves is being generous. DW types just take and take and take. Rarely empathy gives them the urge to show some compassion, but then it is right back to tantrums.

The only time I can think of in school that I ever did was when my friends would be bullied in school I once threw my whole plate of food at a bullies head because they wouldn't leave my friend alone like..my anger has to fester and boil until it erupts xD

@@matthewbates9629 Hopefully you're able to to surround yourself with people that are willing to listen and let you explain yourself and talk things through when you're feling heated :3 oh my gosh that's so true because I tend to have pretty bad social anxiety and sometimes when I have difficulties explaining myself, I get misunderstood as being angry like people won't talk to or be around me for the rest of the day when I try to express myself better and I'm just like "hm..wonder where everyone went?" and they're just off hiding somewhere because they don't know what an ""angry"" me is like when I'm sitting there feeling anything BUT anger xD But I was always that way in school too. Since I was always severely shy and never said anything the moment I would talk it'd get the whole room's attention.
