May not of seen a big knockout though it's great to see Francis improve his fight IQ. He knew Gain was out striking him and won the first two rounds so he switched styles and won the next three.

If Francis continues to improve his grappling and cardio nobody is taken that belt off him anytime soon. I thought Cyril would ware him out and get the late finish but Francis proved a lot of people wrong and I'm glad he won so Dana can't bury him like he was absolutely planning to if he'd have lost.

Francis definitely won this fight 3-2, but how one of the judges saw it 4-1 blows my mind. Also what potential Gane has if he improves his grappling game.
@DeterminedFC2 жыл бұрын
I also had. It 4-1 duno why it blows your mind gane landed 2 more shots then Francis in the first round ... Most of them tippy tappy leg kicks that literally did nothing the biggest strike of that round was nganouu uppercut to the body and combo that had gane fold over and retreat..was a super close first round ...even the second was close due to lack of output by gane in first 2 rounds and no rarely committing to his strikes

Rewatching this it seems the fight was closer than I first thought. Shame would love to see how a rematch would play out.

if the fight is mostly scored on damage how did Ngannou win this? Takedowns with just control, especially after Izzy retained his title against Rob, despite doing near exactly the same thing as Gane. Complete robbery imo, Francis is much improved, but i still think he clearly lost this fight.
