Honestly a spectacular video. World Cup finals, EC semis, Champions League finals, derbies, scudetto clashes. Against Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina, Juventus, Inter, Real Madrid, Red Star, Bayern Munich, Diego's Napoli. Facing Maradona, Van Basten, Gullit, Matthaus, Rumenigge, Hugo Sanchez, Platini, Romario, Zico, Baggio, Batistuta, Signori, Klinsmann, Völler, Careca, Vialli, Mancini, Lineker, Rossi, Butragueno, Michel, Stojkovic, Hagi, Papin. The man faced the absolute football gotha of his era. All of it, again and again. And came out on top. GDOAT.

I remember watching him play for that magnificent Milan side of the late 80s and early 90s. I said it then and I'll say it now.....the best defender I've ever seen. He turned defending into an art form with his elegant style of play. He could read the game and knew exactly where to be to intercept an attack. His passing out of defence would make the best midfielders jealous. Absolute legend

Back when Italian football rules the world in the 80s 90s and early 2000s before the calciopoli destroyed it. I wish Italian football returns back to the way it used to be.for that to happen first every team in serie a needs to have a club owned modernized stadium to improve their finances first

Actrually seen him play, just amazing. SO precise in hhis tackles, this man never went into a tackle to just damge the opponent,never played dirty in a sense. His techinique as a defender was like no one today. Love for Franco Baresi!

For me Baresi is the greatest defender ever despite his little physique.. Reading the play, intercepting, marking, tackling, organizing deffence and even start build up play from deffence, baresi had it all.. Nesta is the one almost similar to Baresi, while Maldini physical presence and his deffence ability made him well-known so easily.. Those 3 always be my best CB ever If i can have a team 4 deffender, all 4 will be from Milan city (Zanetti RB, Baresi CB, Nesta CB, Maldini LB)

Fantastic Defender(pace,skill,technique aggression and a leader)he had it all(and an absolute favourite of mine,but he played with some quality players at AC Milano and for Italy!as well!..The Irish (former Man Utd and Aston Villa)Legend Paul McGrath has to ranked up there(remember his performances against Italy at Italia 90 and U.S.A 94.He carried that Ireland Team..An unbelievable Centrehalf(and he could play in Midfield)

Baresi a superlative football player, elegant in taking off and going out with the ball without committing fouls, a great header, excellent timing to defend and reach cover, and best of all, when he went to attack he was able to define himself as the best striker. In short, a complete player, along with Figueroa, Beckenbauer, among others, an irreplaceable defender in any defense.

When you look at his face and into his eyes, you can see inner strength there very clearly and would be impressed. As for his defense, I would say the most important thing is that he is smart, code-minded, fearless and clearness - nearly all good words that I can think of for a defender.

Still remember AC Milan back four in the early 90s: Tassoti - Baresi - Costacurta - Maldini. These four were the bed rock of that great team and the Italian team. They were before Nesta and Canavaro came into the scene.

Franco is one of the Greatest Football players of All Time.. probably the Best Ever at that position; he captained the greatest Club Side EVER, they ruled the world from the late 1980s into the 1990s, with a style you will never see again. Men like him define the value of a team and the fact the some as great as he is did not lift the fookin World Cup varsity diminishes that trophy.. it is less without him, but he is far above it.

semplicemente il miglior difensore italiano di tutti i tempi, un dinosauro di quelli estinti! grande interprete di una delle rivoluzioni calcistiche più innovativr del gioco di Sacchi nonostante le sue difficoltà iniziali e fermò il grande Brasile di Usa 94 nonostante un rigore disgraziato! oggi vedi i ragazzini esaltarsi per i numeri di un attaccante fuoriclasse stile Messi e Ronaldo, all'epoca c'era un difensore che esaltava ed era un grande esempio da seguire!

Più grande difensore centrale italiano si, più grande libero no diventato titolare in nazionale solo dopo il ritiro di Scirea a cui era superiore in fase difensiva ma inferiore per quanto riguarda palleggio, tocco di palla e fase offensiva, basti vedere i gol segnati dai 2 su azione 24 Scirea, forse 5 Baresi

@@vittoriobassano6195 intendo meramente in termini difensivi, era un muro con il quale non si passava e soprattutto pulito in ogni suo intervento, oggi tutti i doppi passi e le danze secondo me con uno come lui farebbero ridere e solo uno veloce con palla attaccata al piede tipo Messi potrebbe seriamente metterlo in difficoltà, ma se consideri che già solo Maradona una volta si è onorato di farsi vedere di indossare la sua maglia, capiamo tutti che parliamo di un mostro sacro unico nell'arte difensiva....già quando dicono il Milan dei tre olandesi, si per carità, tre dinosauri che hanno fatto la storia, ma secondo me sarebbe più giusto dire il Milan dei tre olandesi che dietro c'avevano Baresi. peccato nn averlo visto dopo anche in una carriera da allenatore

@@marcovavuso727 grande muro difensivo infatti nessun dubbio che lui fosse meglio di Scirea su quell'aspetto e penso che quest'ultimo oggi avrebbe giocato alla Pirlo meno geniale ma più lineare nel gioco e più efficace in fase difensiva. Su Baresi l'unico dubbio riguarderebbe la tenuta fisica nel calcio di oggi oggi, ai tempi potevi sopperire con tecnica e velocità alla mancanza di cm e peso oggi non c'è un centrale sotto 1,85 m per 82/83 kg, lui era 1,76 e di corporatura esile

@@vittoriobassano6195 ma io ho avuto la fortuna di "viverlo" e vederlo nei suoi ultimi 8/10 anni di carriera, ma che io mi ricordi, nn mi sembra che abbia avuto un infortunio molto grave durante la sua carriera, correggimi se sbaglio

@@marcovavuso727 l'unico infortunio traumatico quello al menisco usa 94, nel 1981/82 stette fuori 5 mesi per un virus di cui non si è mai saputo cosa fosse. Infortuni seri non ne ha avuti. Più che tenuta fisica i dubbi sono di struttura fisica per quel che riguarda il suo adattamento al calcio di oggi anche se c'è da dire che la preparazione fisico-atletica è diversa, ci sono giocatori degli anni 80 (Cabrini, Briaschi) che hanno confessato di aver giocato col crociato lesionato cosa oggi impossibile perché allora i ritmi di gioco lo consentivano
