I first saw Idles in Chuck Berry's basement spot in St. Louis. I think that there was 50 people and everyone drove hour's to get there. (13hr round trip for me.) Everyone knew every word and danced and sung. It was a tucked away bunch of undesirables having the time of their lives.

The "Aagh" speaks to me on another level. Its the note that hits me. Its desperate, gutteral, but only for a moment before it's stifled and suppressed. Joe Talbot screaming for half a second here speaks to me on a spiritual level but not in a happy way. I love it, and its fun. Almost sarcastic, or melodramatic. But it's pain, rage, misery and despair. Hm.
