Such a Joe Satch-style tune, love it. Gambale has his own tone, not so wet & dripping w/flangey-phase
@harduse113 жыл бұрын
Total badass. It's all on the table. Frank plays shit that no one else could play. He's developed a right hand technique that will take decades for the world to catch up to. But... the soul of his playing is what inspires me.

Frank pioneered economy picking, nobody comes close to his style, and he is very well rounded with his theory knowledge. all the guitarists that are good are good. frank is an inventor of sorts, a true guitarist worth mentioning in the timeline of guitar technique inventions.

I've offered my definition of "camp" in an earlier post. I submit that Frank is projecting confidence and a better adjective is, "charismatic". He has the stage presence that comes from years of experience, and he can easily upstage others with his skillful moves, smiles and talent. Too many "heavy cats" stand still like cigar store Indians, and that's cool for kids. But the big money show bands and artists know that people also hear with their eyes, which is why "Video Killed the Radio Star".

So I am thinking this model is built like the Gibson Midtown model, chambered out and it doesn't have the solid piece of maple block running down the guitar. How's the feedback on this guitar? So this would Carvins version of the ES-335 w/o the larger mouse ears.

@MrRaif09 I agree with you on the complexity of jazz. But I have to add that Joe Satriani's music is not about "flashy" performances, it actually encompasses all aspects of rock, blues and sometimes jazz, and most importantly the "soul" in his music that makes it extraordinary. This dude Frank is indeed a good artist, but Joe Satch Satriani is a true virtuoso.
@franciscojavier9804 жыл бұрын
Only a good artist??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... Frank Gambale is a FUCKING MONSTER. Why do you analyze Gambale from an instrumental rock (Satriani style) approach? This "dude" GAMBALE IS GOD IN JAZZ FUSION, not only good.
@samborlon4 жыл бұрын
@@franciscojavier980 lol I wrote that comment 8 years ago in response to something someone had said. I don't even know what their comment was since YT comment format was different back then. I do agree, however, that the comparison is not fair. They're both gods in what they do.

@HOUNDDAWG12 жыл бұрын
I didn't "Go watch his Chop Builder DVD" but "camp" implies that he's inexperienced, as if practicing newly acquired skills from performing arts summer camp. He may be defined as charismatic, dynamic, a showman, projecting or just an old fashioned ham. But he's definitely not "camp". His considerable talent (1+) and dynamic stage presence (1) equals (=3) GREAT! Frank has to please himself. If I too wasn't selfish many years ago I couldn't have pleased myself and incidentally others today.
@rickgalindo748513 жыл бұрын
