Thanks for the video. I have some steel pennies I leave on WW2 veterans stones dated in the war years. I have three I visit on memorial day. Friends of mine and my father. One drove a landing craft at Iwo, Siapan, Okinowa. one was in the third wave at Omaha Beach , captured at the Battle of the Buldge with a thousand others, POW. One was at the landing at Anzio wounded in France and has a Silver and Bronze Star marking on his headstone.

The new movie gives Hamer and Fault they respect they deserve. Tough men from the 1800s who went from chasing criminals on horse back to cars. When given a job, they got it done , no matter what it took.

My mother told me that captain Frank Hamer is my 2nd cousin and my grand father Joe Wolf is cousin to captain Frank Hamer and Joe Wolf father O.P.Pack Wolf was a marshal of Snyder Texas and Scurry county from 1906 to 1926 and he was also a honorary Texas Ranger.My great grand mother was Martha Sims and she had a sister,Gladys Johnson Sims who became Gladys Johnson Hamer.I'm proud of my great grand father and my 2nd cousin.

We run a firing range and reloading shop in South Texas. Folks come to our range from all over, including Canada, Mexico, and Australia. Some folks like to keep a bullet as a souvenir. Shy of a firing pin striking the blasting cap, or the bullet ending up in a burning fire, the bullet will not explode. You can pull the projectile off, separate it from the casing, and remove the gunpowder. You can also remove the blasting cap and powder, then reassemble it, rendering it into what is known as a ‘dummy round’. Or you can make a dummy round by not adding powder to the casing. This would turn the bullet into a non-firing keepsake/memento. I don’t know if the bullet left at the gravesite is an actual live round, but with the mowers and weed-eaters used out there, that would be reckless!

Just came across this vid and I enjoy any coverage that gives these two their due. The Canadian Coin that you show is called a Toonie. Here in Canada we do not have $1 nor $2 bills, we have coins instead. The $1 coin has a water bird called a Loon on it and the coin has be called a Loonie pretty much since day one. The $2 despite having a Polar Bear on in has been stuck with the nickname Toonie, as in 2 ones it has even been spelled Twoonie. It was great to see the Toonie on Gault's marker, though sad Hamer didn't have one as well. Plus one more bit for you. You mentioned the first man Hamer arrested, a bit more to it. The man was in fact Hamer's employer at the time who had shot Hamer in the back and Hamer survived and escaped when a colored field hand found him and took him home and had his wife look after him while he went to find Hamer's family. It is this action that it is believed that gave him the lifetime of respect that he had for people of colour and fueled his actions with the KKK and his hatred of Lynchings. My great grandfather was a Methvin. I've been told that Bonnie and Clyde broke out of prison with Henry or they broke him out of prison. Henry also drove their car for them for a while until his dad had them set up for the ambush.

In the film bonnie and Clyde shows them capturing hamer and humiliating him this never happened and his family was very angry about it✌️

He liked the Power that law inforcement gave him.

Anytime you are visiting a Texas cemetery you should scan across the headstones looking for the Texas Ranger cross. There is usually a good story to research there.

When I was around 10 years old a trailer came to town and it had Bonnie & Clydes death car in it and also Hitlers touring car and they charged a couple bucks to see it there was several of the guns of Bonnie & Clyde in this trailer on the wall also

Looks like Gault lost his wife Jan 1955 then his best friend July 1955.. sad times for him.

Frank was also called "Pancho" by close friends.

500 miles per day on those roads and speeds I call BS. It takes me 11 hours from Central Cal to Yuma Az 555 miles only stopping for fuel and food, on today’s interstates an at 70 plus Mph. And I won’t do it day after day.

He was my friend and a member of my lodge. Ironically the name of the lodge is "Texas 8". I'm no longer a member, I got tired of the politics 😴.

That nearly came to be, Powers Boothe was interested in playing Hamer Possibly Walter Hill directing. Anyhow it never worked out . I bet Michael Mann would do a great job on it!

The hero out lived his son, sad. I wonder if that's what contributed to Frank's decline in health. Frank had also been shot quite a few times in his past, maybe he still carried some bullets and had lead poisoning?

Well goodness.. Hamer married a woman who shot/plotted to kill more people than Bonnie did ! Which was 0. His wife done offed her husband... and he killed the man's brother in law. Today they would both be in prison.
