Frank's politics didn't get insane. They come from growing up in a world, in a creative business world that once was more conservative. Nothing "insane" about conservatism. That's a backhanded compliment by injecting that liberal snowflake jab at the end. Typical of your kind. You're still disrespecting Frank. RESPECT and respect his political views and learn, try to understand, you may learn something that may contribute to your craft. .::Gary

I’m a far left-liberal, but, regardless of his views, it’s undeniable the dude is a genius creator, continuing to influence fantastic work-nothing changes that.

His politics are pretty sane now and he's since noted the bad place he was in when he spat out unhinged rants about occupy, etc. I wonder how much "respect" he would get from certain people who were thrilled by that stuff after he made himself extremely clear on where he stands re: merga/DT, etc.

His art went from all-right to extraordinary to revolutionary in a matter of just a few years. I believe the main reason for that progress is his courage. Frank Miller is a fearless artist (and writer), never scared to try whatever the challange.

He didn't start with the strongest art skills, but his love for comics and pure determination allowed him to overcome constant rejection in an industry that was not on its best shape. His comics are remembered and influential. I commend the interviewer for getting very insightful answers.

Frank is surprisingly warm and friendly. I don't know why it's a surprise, I would just be very intimidated to meet him. Very cool to see him like this.

literally just finished watching his g4 Icon documentary. Thats how i remember him as a teen but soon realize that was filmed 12 years ago. Damn he got old. Ive always enjoyed he's art work and dark story telling.

That's my idol right there. Yeah his limited work since 2000 wasn't good (the guy was fighting Cancer so I cut him some slack), but from the beginning to about that time there was nobody that wrote and drew better than him.

it's funny that he said that nobody will find that Gold Key Twilight Zone comic . I did . I'm a big fan of FM & when I first read the comic I found something very familiar in the art . I discovered that the artist was FM by looking in the Overstreet price guide . the book now resides in my collection .

Wow what a great interview. the part where he talked about Batman's crusade to make sure the world makes sense was brilliant and it's cool to see how well BvS understood that idea "my parents taught me a different lesson. dying in the gutter for no reason at all. they taught me that the world only makes sense if you force it to."

The interviewer reminds me of Chris Farley doing his fanboy interviews in those SNL skits. Y-y-you-you re-remember when y-you did The Dark Knight? Yes! That was awesome!!! Lol! Good information from Miller though.

I wish someone would have had the balls to ask about in my opinion,Miller's most controversial series,ALL STAR BATMAN& ROBIN(the boy wonder)!!! I felt that Miller and Jim Lee were the perfect marriage!!! One of the most entertaining satires in comics was this story which did not get finished&that left a sour taste in my mouth. Someone had Sandgate that the interpretation of batman in this particular series was Miller himself as batman&not Bruce Wayne,I agree& adore that opinion!!! If you ever wanted to see batman take a trip out of Gotham and end up in basin city,than grab all star batman& robin. Either you

His comics artist influences: Will Eisner's Spirit, Wally Wood's Weird Science Fiction, Shock SuspenStories, Sally Fort and Spirit art, Gil Kane's Daredevil, Punisher and Green Lantern art, Frank Robbins' Johnny Hazard, Frank Frazetta's Shining Knight, Neal Adams' Batman and Green Arrow art, Jerry Robinson and Dick Sprang Batman art, Jim Steranko's Nick Fury art, Jack Kirby's Hulk and the Thing, Steve Ditko's Question, Joe Kubert's Sargent Rock art, Moebius' Heavy Metal magazine art, Goseki Kojima's Lone Wolf and Cub art, Fred Ray and Wayne Boring's Superman art. And those Fleischer Superman cartoons.

Oh yeah, I forgot to name that comic book legend. Good catch. The Crime SuspenStories #20 (1954) comic with the Craig cover even makes an Easter egg-esque appearance in The Spirit film Miller directed himself. Miller has young Denny Colt holding it up and reading it in a flashback scene.

james atkins That's what was speculated along with a terminal illness, however I could tell that he had some form of cancer by the sound of his throat & everything.
