the album is titled blonde because blonde hair is often bright when one is young, but it begins to darken as they age. this is used to discuss how we lose our freedom with age. this theory is supported by the fact that after the nights beat switch, the album takes a darker tone. in the first half of the album (before nights) frank uses high-pitched vocals to represent his younger self. he also mentions the word summer several times in this album which represents youth and freedom. in the second half of the album (after the nights beat switch) he only references summer once when Andre 3000 says he is “watching the summer come close to an end” which represents the end of his childhood.

Nikes is not like any other song I've ever heard. This dynamic synth, creating an expanding and shrinking melody almost simulating a breathing chorus. Then these drums and snares are the only percussion instruments keeping a slow rhythm on the track making you feel as if you're underwater or on drugs. Don't even get me started on the bells through out the ending of the song and the way he starts it with the high pitched voice. Never done before but feels like it should've because it is the most perfectly arranged song. Not even a song, but a beautiful, magical master piece. This is how music should be done.

I’ve never heard such genius in my life, extremely talented, truly a living legend. It took me a moment to fully appreciate the time that went into making his music. It’s the kind of sound that you know he had a vision for the whole time and it took him forever to get it exactly right. Update: I literally listen to his music every. Single. Day.

It pisses me off that so many BASIC ass-hats hate on the pitched vocal, and that the only frame of reference for them is the damn Chipmunks. Because what I hear, is nothing short of dreamy, and ethereal. Pure honey to the ear! It’s like an otherworldly being like I dunno, an alien or an elf or some shit, thats feeding you secrets of the universe & your inner soul through melting walls on a candy flip. It’s gorgeous, and completely effective. The second the vocal dropped my heart just soared🙌

It’s kinda frustrating cause his normal voice would’ve made it 1000x better.. and the voice makes no sense given the context of the song and album, since he’s singing from the same place and is the same person as the rest of the song That’s one of my only criticisms of the album, is that some things seem out of place and he put them on the album just to prove that he could, or to be different. Examples: the start of this song, guitar riff on nights, Andre 3000 verse (love Andre but the verse was outta place too) It’s a really great project otherwise but to me it’s not album of the year, and you’re allowed to say it’s the best album ever made but I think most people (not stans) would disagree. As always can’t wait for his new work
