im queer and i just turned 18, when i was 16 i met this girl, with shoulder length wild hair and dark shadow residue around her eyelashes.. she wore mask almost all the time, said she was uncomfortable but i never got to tell her i found her beautiful, every time i saw her face, i stared. she was beautiful. the 16th year of my life and the year after were all about her, every song i listened to had her traces. i was in love, she was too. but i had too much mental baggage. with an dysfunctional family and depression, every day i drifted away from her. she tried to hold me close to her, refused to let go. and it scared me, i couldn’t believe her feelings were real anymore, not when i saw my parents fall out of love so vividly. i was cursed to be unable to love, and she began to desperately claw on my heart, to leave scars of herself onto my heart. i couldn’t take it, i couldn’t face her when my life was falling apart and breathing felt like a chore. when i broke up over texts, she told me she would wait and give me time, but she couldn’t give the space i was fighting everyone and everything for. we haven’t talked since and now im 18, i found out she blocked me when i tried to wish her happy birthday. i deserved it, it makes me relieved that she can hate me. i miss what we had before the suffocating feeling made it hard for me to be near her. i still love her, not in the same way as before but as a core part of my soon ending teenage years… sometimes i wish i never met her but loving her for that small amount of time proves to me that i could love, and as the waves of life harshly bring me back from the nostalgic memory ill tell myself ill be able to love oneday again

So this is the end of us? I know i did wrong but i couldnt stay sober and i know i promised but im not the only one who breaks promises am i?
