Defense wins championships. Meanwhile, the Oilers have below average D, and their forwards (including 97 and 29) are not committed to D either. The reality is the Oilers had an easy path to the final and now in the final they’ve shown they do not belong.

The same culprits and mental mistakes that have plagued this team since October are back at the worst possible time. Knoblauch & his coaching team are doing their best with what they've got but they can't go out there and execute. In spite of all this, as an Oilers fan this has been a great year of entertainment from my team. Love that they made the finals and everything leading up to this. Looking forward to one more game tonight. GO OILERS!!!!!

Panthers shut down Kucherov. Then Pastrnak. Then Kreider. And now McDavid and Draisaitl. Florida deserves credit for doing that. Outstanding defense all the way around. Cup winning defense. Oilers can learn from it. Changes coming for the Oilers.

oilers as constructed are a flawed p-off team. and they won’t be back to the finals any time soon, with their salary cap situation. especially with drai, mcjesus, bouch-bombs getting significant wage adjustments. that's not to mention being stuck with $17m in garbage contracts like nurse, campbell and ceci. that's not to mention COL and VGK who are still dangerous threats. then there's VAN and LAK who have potential to be the next gen of contenders. DAL still could have something to say if they get enough physicality on their roster.

If you look up the salaries of each team, the panthers are getting their value from their guys they are allocating their cap resources towards. Where the Oilers are not. The Panthers pay their back up goalie 2 million more than the Oilers pay Skinner. What do you expect from that position when you don’t allocate necessary cap money to the position? And where the Oilers are spending their money they are not getting a return on those cap resources. Pretty simple.

Everybody wants Skinner to be the guy so badly but he just isn’t. Maybe he can be, but 25 is not a goalies prime like it is for a skater. Late 20’s/early 30’s is a goalies prime. It takes that much longer (usually) for a goalie to figure it out.

Dude, they didn't"shoot themselves in the foot". The Soilers just don't have an answer for cats pressure. It's obvious that anyone with eyes can clearly see. Cats have handled Atlantic teams, which are all clearly better than Edimington.

They have shot themselves in every game...HUGE MISTAKES!....This series should not be 3 - 0...It could easily be 3 0 for Oilers too if it wasnt for Bobrovski...Oilers have had more quality chances and more O zone time. ..getting goalied so far....Its not over until it's over....Oilers in 7....G O G! ..

Poor management / ownership decisions on contracts + roster were hidden so far by 97 and other value players (18-29-14-28..). Others are way overpaid (25-36-5-91-…) or not at the level yet to win (74-86). EDM lucky to make the Finals through 97-PP-PK. It just shows against a deep team with at least 8 guys playing way above their cap hit, included Barkov.

Oilers ran into a solid brick wall of a complete team…….Frank the panthers didn’t make a mistake in the 3rd, hitting a panthers elbow to get 1 of the goals…so yeah puck luck, it is what it is…..

Simple and easy power play can not score, you can't win the game. Simple and easy, all the Oilers superstars are nailed, those superstars should learn how to be a king maker. passed the pucks to the other players to shot the pucks. The coach is to focus on the superstars to shot the pucks to get the goals.
