This was a great interview. It's always a pleasure to hear an old timer talk about anything that any of us have no experience of outside of reading about it. To hear it from the mouth of those who lived it means a great deal to cats like me. Only reason I ain't never had to do time. I listened to all my Tio's who went inside and told me it ain't the place to be. As opposed to my peers who were coming home like that shit was supposed to be a sort of "rite of passage" for us all. Respect.

what he was saying about con safos being free and such. it kinda has the same meaning a the "Hold Fast" saying, but the opposite a fast is what sailors tied off the boats to dock. Hold fast is basically like you are home safe and staying where you are because you like what position in life you are in

i was told by a white fence veterano as a kid that it stood for were down for ours and thats the way it is.
