Looking forward to this one. I think Joyce can and will avenge the defeat providing he boxes to a smarter gameplan. First of which needs to be the basic principle of circle to the left when you fight a southpaw. Zhang has fast hands for his size but slow feet. He also needs to put pressure on with a tight guard and let punches go from short/mid range and turn it into a cardio battle.

Saw Joe Joyce live against Carlos takam and couldn’t believe how slow Joe punches are ! Takam landed bombs and took them before overwhelming takam ! Zhang is really big lad , bigger than Joe and has fast hands ! Really love to see Joe win , but don’t think the fight will be much different !

The nearest “pointer” which I have been able to find is the 2016 amateur Rio Olympics quarter final between Joe Joyce and Bakhodir Jalolov. Like Zhang, Jalolov is a southpaw who relies mainly on a fast straight left cross to finish his opponents (13 ko’s in 13 wins so far). Unlike Zhang he has not yet developed a strong right jab or right hook. He was only 22 (now 29) when he fought Joyce, who was 30 years old at the time and beat him (virtually to a standstill) with non-stop left jabs and body punches. I suspect Zhang’s body is what Joyce will target more this time. Against Jalolov, Joyce was also quicker on his feet, however, and he will need to be so again, if he is to get his own punches off and avoid Zhang’s counters. In addition Zhang negated his most potent weapon, his left jab. This time he will need to land it and land it often. Which could be a problem because, although they both have an 80” reach, Zhang punches faster and boxes from a more sideways on stance. If Joyce does get his incessant left jab landing throughout, I can see him stopping Zhang late, probably Round 11. If he doesn’t, I think Zhang will win again, but this time on points.

I'm not getting the punch resistance had gone, he didn't hit the deck or anything the difference was his eye got peppered and closed up this didn't stop him from fighting himself it made the ref stop the fight and rightly but to say the punch resistance went is stupid, it's not rocket science to know you hit and not get hit ideally and that's what zhang done and Joyce didn't simple he needs to be more elusive and land punches if he goes in heavy then he's going to try and walk through him that won't work in my opinion we will soon see tho.

@@unknownunknown3692 I never questioned what or if he won any rounds he needs to be able to land his shots and not get hit anywhere near what he did in the first fight, the bottom line is he only fights one way and that is to wear opponents down if he doesn't adapt then the same result is very likely to happen. In terms of losing the rounds had his eye not suffered damage then he would have continued in his usual fashion and hoped to take Zhang out if that didn't materialise unless some corrupt decision Zhang would have won on point but that's how Joe fights he walks people down breaks them until the last fight so he has to adapt different tactics or likely however much he weighs the same result will happen not rocket science.

I had Joyce ahead 3 9maybe 4 rounds) of the 5 but the more important thing is Zhang was tiring out and Joyce was coming on stronger. unfortunately, the fight was suspended due to a technical medical precaution so Joyce couldn't continue winning. IF there are no cuts or swells or injuries then I see it going a repeat and juggernaut stops Zhang by around the 8th. Just as he 'would have' had the first fight not been suspended and unfinished (correctly so, as per the medical safety rules0

There’s no chance for AJ to have victory against fighters of this caliber. He only wants to fight people who are easy to beat or they’re way smaller than him so he can feel superior. Frank is too experienced to make the same mistake twice. It was bad enough the first time and for him to go ahead and do it again suggests he is either he has not learnt anything in his time in the business and is just a lucky man to have gotten the successes he has gotten in this business, or he doesn’t quite care for Joe. Firstly Zhang is all wrong for Joe. I said that before the first fight and I say it again. Zhang is all wrong for joe. Firstly joe has no defence and Zhang is a banger. The fact that frank thought joe could beat this guy the first time shows me that perhaps his knowledge of this sport is overrated. No way anyone who knows anything about boxing would think joe with his style would beat this guy with his power. The weight did make a big difference but the styles are what made the biggest difference. A guy with no defence up against a banger is only going to end one way. Then add to that the fact that Zhang is southpaw style is also a factor but the main thing is defence or lack thereof.
