They had to get the former British special forces involved for this scene and even then they recommended that they didn't go ahead with it and said they couldnt promise that they would be safe!! Such an incredible thing to put yourself through for a laugh.

That was a real chair that got thrown, too. Sasha talked about that whole incident in interviews after the movie came out, saying that was the most dangerous situation he ever put himself in. Not just the chair that could've given him a concussion but the crowd literally started to riot and were trying to get to him. The only thing stopping them were all the security guards surrounding the cage. Sasha even got sued for that stunt because he crossed state lines with intent to start a riot. That guy's got balls.

Sacha said they had to build a trapdoor to a reinforced tunnel under the ring to a waiting car to escape. He purposesly went to Texarkana to throw a free cage match fight, handing out free T-shirts, and apparently a bunch of newly-released convicts and prison guards were in the audience. No idea how they pulled it off but they did.

Watch the range of emotions Frank goes through from 5:10 until 5:44. @ 5:10 Frank looks relaxed and kind of curious about what'll come next. @ 5:16 it registers that someone threw a chair into the ring on screen and he looks truly scared for the guys in the cage. Really scared. Lift his left hand to his face and nervously scratch his beard @ 5:23 scared. That fear builds until 5:28 when the camera pans to a couple of horrified women at which point Frank justifiably laughs his balls off at them. Then @ 5:34 he suddenly looks a little confused, like he's trying to wrap his head around the dude crying on the screen. And then, my personal favorite, @ 5:38 Frank's face morphs into about the most pained disgust I've ever seen but is somehow also the funniest looked I've ever seen in my life. I've watched this video about 50 times and every time, every, every, every damn time between 5:38 and 5:42 I laugh so hard I have to pause the video. But the look on Frank's face is so funny every time I look at the screen I laugh so hard that I stop making any noise. And then convulse for about 5 minutes. So stay with Frank until @ 5:43 to 5:44 when the screen goes dark and he immediately looks like he is the most relieved he's felt in years. I'm guessing that's probably the kind of complex internal experience Sacha was hoping people would have.
