My ex wife had this old yorkshire dog that would only eat in her hand and when she sings a little song she made for him. Once she went travelling and I had to take care of him for some days. He was hungry and didn't want to eat without his song, that I hadn't a clue about the lyrics nor the melody. I started singing different songs with no success... Frank, you DO know we want you to react more and more of Tim.=D So first of all, thank you. Second of all, keep going. At this point you already know Tim had many nuances on his discography, yet you are reacting to the most commercial songs. So I would like to keep suggesting you to look to the "other side" to see some of his best works. In 1975 he released an album at his best groove and musicality, but it didn't get space in media because at that time he was into a weird vibe of extraterrestrials coming to save humanity, that was all he was interested to talk about, so TV and radio kind of set him aside. Yet, as a musician, he was on fire. So I would like to recommend, from this period, songs like "Bom Senso", "Acenda o Farol" and "We Gonna Rule the World" (yes, it's in English. Simple lyrics but great sounding). "Réu Confesso" also has a nice groove. For more nuances I want suggest a love song ft Gal Costa called "Um Dia de Domingo". He also recorded songs sounding more like Brazilian northeastern traditional gender that worth to take a look, like "Canário do Reino". I know, I am talking a lot but I really really would be pleased to watch your reaction to "Disparada" covered by Zé Ramalho ft Elba Ramalho ft Geraldo Azevedo. Salutes from Thailand. :)

Frank, this lyric is a piece of art if you ask me. The story itself is about a broken relationship but the choice of the words is not common and fits very nice with r&b/funk/soul beats. He tells a story about her partner messing everything up (probably a cheating). The beginning is him talking about how much a relationship can be that good and turns everything upside down when his partner blows it up. But in the lyrics and the tone you can realyze that he struggles in his decision because of how powerful is this love. He askas for a reason (Give me a Reason, more like a Show me a Good reason, title of the song speaking in semantics of how he sounds and not literaly translated)

Nice! Tim Maia has great songs in which he sings in english (he lived in the US for some time). They didn't became much popular in Brazil, but the are just as great as the one you are reviewing. Maybe it can be nice for english speaking followers to hear those and get some of the lyrics To name a few of my favorites: - I don't know what to do with myself (1971) - Do your thing, behave yourself (1973) - Rational Culture (1975) - this is so awesome, but it's a 12 minute song mostly instrumental - Brother, Father, Sister and Mother (1976) - A great song he sings against religion, from a time he was disappointed with them

There's even a copyright infringement related to Jorge and Rod Stewart. Basically, Rod copyied the main part of Jorge's song "Taj Mahal" on his "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" hit.
