We are witnessing the development of 2 girls with outstanding potential. It was very touching. Char, you have an amazing gift and many of the ways you use your tongue and and vocal chords are stunning for your age. But you can do this at a national competition level if you add some things you have shown us before. The way you express your emotions is best standing up or even better, watch Sarah McLaughlin how she keeps her back very straight at the piano so she can take deeper breaths and use her diaphragm, not her chest. Avoid letting your back bend in a chair. You lose control and pitch if you are not using your diaphragm to produce more air and best control. It is noticed in some other songs, not much with this one. If you could add the piano to this, it would also add to the inspiration. But at least stand and show is how well you can express some of the emotions you have shown with other songs. You have shown us powerful and moving emotional connections to your music. This was really good, but I know you could make everyone in the audience feel this so much that all their hair would stay standing for an hour!! Please don’t take this as bad criticism. You have an amazing gift and just need to learn techniques that will help you win “the Voice”.
