Niles cleaning his chair at the end of the skit is a nice touch.

Frasier uses the word "jejune" at least twice in the series and I love how they brought that into it. The dialogue here is genius.

I love this... This was from the Star Trek 30th Anniversary show in 1996. Fave line is when David Hyde-Pierce says the Aldebarian is "About to go where so many men have gone before"

Niles' enunciation is perfect for Star Trek. I never noticed it before. He reminds me of Reginald Barclay of TNG. I could definitely see him as a character. He also reminds me a tad of Dr. Bashir... perhaps it's Bashir's unrequited love for Dax.

At least Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway) dedicated her time and acting for this skit.

Frasier would've been perfect as the klingon, especially because of Eddie. lol

Yes, it's too bad the sound is so off - but of interest is how even in this spoof the nature of the characters and the dynamics between them are so good that they can still come up with a reasonably funny script.

He was actually in Startrek Next Generation in a tiny role as a captain of a ship. The Enterprise was stuck in a time loop and got their memories erased each time they went back an entire day, so they didn't know, but they were able to figure it out. Eventually they got out and found out they were stuck there for a 2 weeks. The ship they kept bumping into got out of the loop too, after being stuck there for several years. The captain was, of course, Grammer.

Mulgrew had to fill in for Grammar, who was still in rehab at the time.

frasier was on an episode of STTNG. he played the captain of an old reliant class ship that came through a wormhole into picard's time period. that was one of the best episodes ever.

This may sound REALLY provincial, but you NEVER saw at LEAST one episode of Star Trek ? Star Trek is a major cultural icon, even though it's turned into a money - making franchise & money - making mechanism. Star Trek AND Superman are 2 of the most recognizable icons in pop culture.
