Prior to moving to Seattle in the first season of the show, Frasier had a tumultuous relationship with his father. Because of their stark differences, there were constant arguments. But because they were forced to be close, they spent more time together, which contributed significantly to their reunion. It makes logical that the new show pays tribute to Martin and Frasier's romantic tale, which was the best in the original Frasier series. That does not imply that they were without disagreements, though. Given their different decorating tastes, Christmas at the Crane flat may be particularly tense.
