I'm in Shockwave team 4488. So excited that our team was in the video. We played against Bear metal in the playoffs. Match 13 was an unfortunate match for them when both of their alliance partners broke down and ended up getting eliminated. They used their side climb in match 7.

I'm operator for 3636 generals and was on Bear metals alliance, our battery ended up jumping out and hitting the breaker. It was an unfortunate but a great match, by the way you guys played amazing and love your design, hope to see you at dcmp :)

Funny you mention the possible difficulty of announcing the Ventura #1 alliance, I was one of the two GAs for Ventura! Surprisingly, I didn't trip up on the robot numbers, I think I had enough distinction in my mind between all three robots, but if their robots were more similar I could see stumbling on my numbers haha. Was a blast to get to watch these robots up close and personal!

The other GA at Ventura, here: The only issue with announcing the Hawaiian Kids is how they list their sponsors... I just gave up after the first go and said "Sponsored by Hawaii," which apparently had the team in stitches, so, yay? And as a GA, it gets soooooo much easier doing the play-by-play in the finals because you just have six robots to keep track of, so you just get used to identifying the bots by sight, don't even need to check the team numbers.

1:10:11 - Twitch Chatter tumtum0 knows what they’re talking about! The entirety of Wayne State seems underrepresented. No 1189 The Gearheads, 7769 The CREW, 226 Halmerheads, 3539 Byting Bulldogs, 469 Las Guerrillas, or 217 Thunder Chickens in the top 50! I know it ended on Sunday, but come on FIM, we need to do better!

“Add NY in”… if NY switches to the district model, I’m not sure if I’d even want to keep mentoring. Having the one, big trip to look forward to (and to handle/deal with!) is part of what makes this fun and manageable. Having to do multiple small, more local events sounds like a downgrade.
