Today we are reviewing the Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD!! This machine says it can do 6 machines in just the space of 1. So we put the Freak Athlete to the test in this video and we tested the Nordic Hyper GHD in all the claims it made. Spoiler alert, this machine functions very well, in a space efficient foot print, that only takes up 2' by 2' when stored vertically.
This Freak Athlete Nordic Hyper GHD Machine excels as an Adjustable Nordic Bench, 45 Degree Back Extension and its even a good option for a GHD. Check out the video to see how the other 3 machines function and to hear my thoughts.
Hey guys, great news!! I am now an affiliate for Freak Athlete so you can use the code GORECKIFIT50 to save $50 off the Nordic Hyper GHD at checkout. If this video was helpful, please consider using my code as it helps support the channel.

Very very solid here brother! From the B roll to the high quality clips to breakdown, this was legit! A staple to so many home gyms is this kind of piece and freak athlete seems to be knocking it out of the park! Keep these up bro!!

Great job on the review! Awesome camera work and thorough breakdown as well. That pulley is something I immediately thought would be useful when I set up for the 45° hyper. It just makes sense. Cool to see that hack in action! That's something they should consider adding.

Agreed those locking names take a hot minute to get used to but once you've had it for 2 weeks, you're off to the races

Just watched your video and man that thing moves around a lot, I see what Coop was saying. On your situps, reverse hypers, back extensions it was moving a lot. I do not want to be 3 feet off the ground doing a sit up and the machine moving around. From an objective opinion of a guy who doesn't have any skin in the game and only says the absolute truth this piece is Not a good piece of equipment and should be considered a novelty piece and the only people who should buy it are collectors of home gym equipment or either a reviewer. Great Review man, We could really see it in action on your review, with Gluck's review we could not tell if it was moving a lot and maybe he put th eff camers so far away so we couldn't see it. Gluck is honest so his review on this confuses me, he should have bashed this thing into next week buy with influencers we never know their agenda but I'm giving Gluck the benefit of the doubt but I will say your review was the best on this piece of equipment, Gluck mailed it in, Coop rushed to get finished to go home so he talks so fast. You actually cared, great job

It definitely wobbles but thats the issue when making something so versatile. I bought this mainly as an adjustable Nordic bench and I can say without a doubt, this performs well. The problem with a design like this is always going to be stability, everything moves on this piece from the ground up. I didn’t weigh mine down in the b roll either so that would help, but I’ll agree there is side to side wobble but it will have a place for so many people. It’s not a stand alone GHD but you can accomplish a lot for the general population and these folks care about rehab exercises in a space friendly solution. I thought everything you said before I bought it, but since I bought it for Nordics, I took the chance and I actually enjoy it. GHD stuff I won’t do as much, but Nordics, GHRs, leg raises are good but yes, it will wobble due to design.

Nice review. I’ve watched a handful of them on this piece and after each one it just seems underwhelming. It feels like a jack of all trades and master of none in the worst way.

Thank you, yeah a lot of moving parts but if there’s one area it does a nice job with, is the adjustable Nordic bench in my opinion. Never did Nordics before except basically dropping quick to the floor and just did my first one tonight.

I watched Gluck's and Coop's reviews on this piece. I thought about getting it after Gluck's review but Coop really put the stability down and I will admit it is surprising seeing Coop actually telling the truth on equipment instead of what he sid for 10 years with just praising every piece that he recieved for free. GGR is so ingrained in the home gym review game that all his equipment comes free and he has started to tell the truth now over the last year, year and a half. I never thought I'd see the day where Gluck praised something then Coop shoots it down. Coop's review made me not even think about it. Gluck said pads are good, Coop said the pads suck. Got to give it to Coop, he is telling the truth in his reviews now, only took him selling out for 10 years to get to this point

Coop sold GGR a few years ago and is a talking figure head for the parent company. He also barely works out at this point imo compared to how he looked before.

Great review! But you you said “un-loosen” so many times. It’s just loosen. Un-loosen would mean tighten.
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit Ай бұрын
Thanks, just looked it up and in most cases that would be correct, but loosen and unloosen mean basically the same thing. To make something loose, or to make something completely free.

Some additional months in now, are you happy with how this is working out and holding up for glute ham raises? I'm debating between this or a floor GHD (looking at Titan), which will also do hip thrusts and split squats and store vertical, and pairing either of these options with the Westside Reverse Hyper that also folds up. The Titan is $500 shipped, and if I wind up wanting regular Hypertensions, I could add the Ironmaster Hypercore to the bench I already own for $250 netting me out ~$50 less than the ~$800 that the Freak Athlete is currently running shipped, but space is a real consideration and this would start to push it. I dont have any interest in nordic curls or GHD crunches due to catchers knee and lower back issues. Would you say go with the dedicated GHD in this scenario where the all in one benefits are not completely needed or say that the Freak Athlete does the GHD thing just as well?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit Ай бұрын
So honestly, I bought this mainly for Nordics and the extra versatility was a big bonus. That being said, if you aren’t gonna utilize it for everything and the reverse hyper is not a reverse hyper so you’d still need the Westside which I have, then going the Titan will be a good choice. The Titan will be more stable in my opinion and doing reverse hypers will feel more stable as well. I will say I think the Freak Athlete is holding up very well and it’s easily a piece I use a few times a week. The Velcro GHD pad is the only thing I’m not a fan of otherwise it works very well. Reverse hyper again is not a real reverse hyper but the other exercises work great. If you use the Freak Athlete mostly at the lower setting, it’s a bit more stable but the Titan one is probably gonna feel more like a GHD and work well for Glute ham raises. The freak athlete can do them, but the Velcro does have some give, doesn’t physically come undone, but you can feel it move a tad. Ultimately comes down to the goal and your use for it. The FA does a great job for a versatile compact unit, but it sacrifices the feeling of being stable until you do the exercise. Once you do the exercise, It feels good.

@GoreckiFit Thanks! Very helpful and crazy quick response. Also, very helpful review to begin with. I am predisposed to love this product as an inventor and creative minamilist type (who has gone as far as drawing up various sketches of commercial and home gym innovations myself but have instead stayed focused on higher returing efforts in my career), so it's uniquely painful to turn to other more dedicated and limited options. I see the potential in a 2.0 or 3.0 derivative of Freak Athlete products being very exciting if the company can make it that far. Even if it might not be a fit for your needs, you'll probably enjoy checking out the Tytax products. I owned and enjoyed the M1, had a T1-X on order, and got close to ordering the MX with the JA option recently but space did not permit.

@@Tiger1016. that Txtax piece looks crazy for an all in one type unit. Yeah the Freak Athlete piece is pretty cool and overall they did a great job, but I definitely don’t see them being done yet. I’m sure they will work on refining this one until it’s much better. Once they get a nicer pad, maybe one that doesn’t have Velcro, it will be much better in my opinion. Again, definitely depends on what you’re using it for because you do a pay a bit more for the versatility. I think for your uses, either one will work very well.

Hey, you think you could seal row or chest supported row with this thing?
@GoreckiFit
@GoreckiFit 2 ай бұрын
I think the pad is too wide for those. You can remove the pad and use your core, but it’s not gonna be good for seal row or chest supported row just due to the width of pad.
