Mike do you think we'll ever reach a reckoning on bag pricing? So many of these bags that are $100+ are virtually the same as bags with much lower price tags. Will the smaller bag companies ever overcome the name cachet of the Ultras, Luckys, etc? Or will the bag player herd mentality still hold strong? To me, $100+ for a set of bags is nuts, and now we're over the $125 threshold. Clearly, with discounts and Ultra dropping the prices at release, there's some wiggle room. And while I understand and appreciate that the bag companies need to make money, and they're paying for sponsorships, etc ... but a lot of the small manufacturers can offer virtually the same bags at approaching half the cost. To me that speaks volumes.

We are used to paying more for a name brand product. In some ways, those name brand product are a status symbol. I don't see that changing when it comes to cornhole bags. People want the Ultra, BG, Lucky, etc and they are willing to pay up for it. As long as the people are going to spend the money, these companies will keep raising the prices.

Small companies aren’t paying out the ass for the ACL stamp.

@chrisdavis9276 The ACL stamp doesn't cost as much as everyone thinks. Most of the bag companies sell more bags because of the ACL stamp. The extra sales offset the expense. You can buy some great ACL stamped bags for $80 or less.

Mike, love your work. Wondering if you might start weighing bags. We have had two sets of Ultra bags show up that played real stiff (Viper-R and Widow-R, both 2023 stamped). We thought it was the break-in, but as it turns out, both sets were grossly overfilled. (17.9 and 17.7 ounces per bag respectively, and all 4 in each set were spot-on) Of the 25-30 sets of bags we have, no others have been out of spec. Our Creatures are light (15.5-ish) while our Wingman are heavy (16.5). Most are right down the center (16.0) I'm curious if the amount of fill in the bags you're reviewing are the same as what we're all throwing. I feel like this could be a big reason our results don't always jive with yours. And it's a metric we can all measure w/o affecting the bags in any way. As cornhole marketing gets more tech, we're going to need more metrics. If only to hold a manufacturer to their published spec (let alone the spec that will get your bags thrown out of a tournament).

I weigh every bag that I review. I have never had a bag out of specs and I have weighed over 1,000 individual bags. I hope you reached out to Ultra and had those bags replaced because you can't throw those in a competitive tournament. I know the Creatures are made lighter than the 16oz. I'm not familiar with the Wingman. ACL bags can be anywhere from 15.5 oz to 16.5 oz and still be legal. I'm not sure about the ACO or TCL but I would guess they have similar requirements. My scale is just a cheap scale that I bought locally. It has not be properly calibrated so I'm not going to give out potentially inaccurate information.

I've been out of corn hole for a few months due to an injury. Anyone know what MIke's current favorite bag is? Last time I was up to date I believe it was 23' wizards. Lot of bags have been released past few months. Thanks in advance all. would love to hear everyone in the comments favorite bag right now too
