My Chihuahua had an eye that had a black spot on it. We had to take him to an eye specialist as they thought it might be cancer. We took him the next day but before we got there, is eyeball ruptured. It had to be taken out. Within a year he lost the sight in the eye that was left. He lived 18 more months and then he passed. I was devastated as I’d had him for 13 years.

This was a heartwarming collection of stories. I love vets that are willing to try things that might seem a bit "out there" to help their patients. When one of my guinea pigs had a problem with her jaw locking and causing her lots of pain when eating or drinking I asked my vet if he could give her botox to relax the muscles. The weird idea came to me when my neurologist was giving me my botox for my migraines. Instead of dismissing the idea as crazy my vet actually did some research into if it could help and if it was safe. In the end, he couldn't do the injections because the muscles and nerve to swallow were just too close together and the risk was just too high that he'd paralyse the wrong thing. I love him for that.
@michellebaker6302
@michellebaker6302 2 жыл бұрын
I got Botox for migraines before it was approved for them (it was approved for cosmetics at the time) and my mom mentioned she actually had Botox on her vocal cords in the 1980s! She has a disorder where they spasm. I have also heard of it being used in kids with Cerebral Palsy to help with the tightened muscles. So your idea actually made sense, even if in the end it wasn't safe for that specific situation.

Angus, Rosie’s dad, is a wonderful man. 🦮🌷🌱 Nova’s family is so wonderful. and she’s an adorable doggie :) amazing they could treat that “thing” so easily - well, as long as the doc doesn’t cut the jugular vein or any nerves! sure easy!! :) 🐕🌷🌱

Angus is amazing. What a good pet dad. Dr A taking care of Nova was adorable. That kid was so obviously in love with his dog. It just made you root for him to get his pup back better than ever.
