In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Silent. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/cas...
Even though I do not use it, I recommend Minty Spire for people looking for various Quality-of-Life improvements: steamcommunity...

Glad to hear Baalor's take on win rates, there's nothing that carries over between your runs and your ability to perform on your current one doesn't have anything to do with your previous runs.

@@erensametkaratas6593it doesn't show up if you are playing past ascension 15 or are playing on the ascension that is your highest level unlocked

Baalor's opinion on win rates is so unironically based I loved hearing it. It literally has no impact on your current run and is just fluff score keeping. Goated

@@itscatoclockTook me a while too, it goes by really fast. When it says "Player Turn," it also tells you the turn count underneath.

Well, we'd only remember the times where he did get it right :D Also... and just theoretically: Since the seed is known, you could boot up the game on another computer / screen again, and go through the card rewards, always one step ahead. Wouldn't even take that much effort. You can sometimes hear him interact with chat, where watchers are already doing this in regards to relics, i.e. they are asking if he wants to get spoiled on whether or not he gets dead branch later in the run. Since he always turns those offers down, he probably doesn't spoil it for himself either (he'd be way better at not missing masteries too) and this is just a coincidence, based on how often he plays. He literally will be right sometimes, just due to pure chance.

Hey, just wanted you to know (from 23:20) there are several ways to combine two vods together! I believe lossless cut does it extremely easily and cleanly, and FFmpeg should be capable of doing it as well, without having to re-render the videos together.

He retained it so that he would have a higher chance of playing 3 attacks in subsequent turns.

Because he had kunai, and if he keeps the shiv, he can use it next turn to try and get another kunai stack, rather than just waste it and get nothing.

Baalor, when you picked up the second Blade Dance+, you said, "Now we're cooking. Now we're cooking." I was really disappointed that you didn't say, "Now we're dancing."

What is the logic of not taking eviscerate with the discarding you had plus the strength bonus where youd get to hit 3 times plus wouldnt it get buffed with it costing zero because of hidden blade or w/e. Just curious as to why because ik youre way better at this game than me i would have taken it instantly

From what I've seen, Baalor doesn't take "obvious" cards like that, especially late into the run because he usually already has other cards that do the same thing (sometimes better.) In this case, Eviscerate benefits from discard synergy but is only 1 attack to proc the ninja relics. Blade Dances are cheap, procs ninja relics, benefits from burst and doesn't require other cards to benefit from Hidden Blade.

Baalor is doing a self imposed mastery challenge inspired by Monster Train, which means he has to finish A20 Heart runs with 2 copies of a card (even curses) in his end game deck, spread over different runs over the year. The 'not mastered' is a mod he had commissioned that displays that the card has yet to be 'mastered'. This challenge also means that like every card in the game, he also has to beat the Heart with every relic too.

doesnt winstreaks technically impact your chance to win your current run though? I was under the impression potion and rare cards % odds keep dropping when you go on streaks no?

No, everything resets for each new game. The only things that carry over between runs are the various unlocks (unlocking the characters, cards, relics, and ascension levels) and achievements (which have no impact in-game). Since he's on Ascension 20 on all characters, and has been for years, each run is effectively independent of the last. Edit: There's an event that can carry a card over if you're at

Winrate is a stupid thing to focus on. This is a single player game. It's literally not a contest. Just make the fun plays.

Side note, after starting to keep track of it, I’ve gotten N’loth’s face mask 12/16 times. I pretty much only pick the face option if I’m already ready to restart the run now
