Funny thing is Tony Thompson is one of the best ever and also underrated drummers ever. You’ve heard him on: Chic(La Freak, Good Times) Sister Slege(We Are Family) Diana Ross(This song, Upside Down) Madonna(Like A Virgin, Material Girl) He was in the band Power Station (Bang A Gong, Some Like It Hot) Robert Palmer (Addicted To Love) also Led Zeppelin hired him for “Live Aide” to sit in John Bonham’s chair….sadly Tony died when he was only 48. He’s a personal favorite of mine 😅 as you can probably tell a, Jordan/Brady type figure to me. Long live Tony!!!

Tony Thompson was the power station in the Power Station. For the other guys in that band he was the real reason for them forming that band.

I'm a musician. There's a difference between "I've never learned this song" and "I've never HEARD this song". You can tell he's HEARD it, but never (as we say) "put hands on it". Good Job!!

he obviously had to practice it . its too composed of a part to just hit it off top first try . that drum intro is actually pretty avant garde for a pop song .
