The original piece of film that started it all off, ending with his most famous piece of dialog.

I remember seeing this original documentary on TV when it was first shown, and thinking Wow, they have struck gold with this guy. The final shot with the hooter, and Fred running down the yard pursued by a falling chimney, and his natural catch phrase "Did ya like that", is amazing. Thanks for the memory.

Fred was deeply safety conscious, for himself and others. He definitely cared about health and safety.

There was never a bad word that could be said about Fred. This was a REAL TV program and the sort of thing they should bring back in place of the crap shown on today's TV.

Having listened to Fred's videos I know he enjoyed his job although it was dangerous and departmental to his well being. As I look back on my memories my life would have been enhanced if I had met Fred and listened to his practical experiences.
@glumpy109 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. Would have been great just to sit down with the guy for an hour over a few beers and listen to his ideas on life. He may not have been a Rocket Surgeon but I bet he had a lot more real life smarts than all of the brainiacs put together.

Almost every video I have seen on youtube has comment that reads something like "how can anyone dislike this video....(insert joke relating to the video)". But in the case of this video, I genuinely do not know how someone can dislike this. What Fred did was an artform. His job is interesting, his hobbies are interesting, the man is just an interesting person.

He knew ciggies dont ignite petrol well even if you drop it on petrol its unlikely to ignite, dont get me wrong though when he stands underneath a 500 tonne brick waterfall its very very dangerous. Ive seen videos of people standing 100 foot back in the opposite direction and still get wiped out by a stray brick.
