His ability to leave people literally in pain with laughter was unmatched. Unpredictable, a bit dangerous , unhinged, very, very funny, and that’s why we loved Freddy. He was far too good for the “P.C.”world of acceptable comedy, and I consider myself lucky to have enjoyed his brilliance at his peak.

RIP Freddie Starr! No matter what anybody says, you were a TRUE BRITISH Gem! it's a pitty the Media (like the Sun newspaper) ruined you, and classed you as something that you were not, in many occasions! Just like they done with Benny Hill! They should be ashamed of themselves! To me, and my Dad, and to millions of British people with a funny bone in them, you were a comedy genius! You will NEVER be forgotten! Thank you for your class act, talent and entertainment throughout the years! :) EDIT: I'm from Northern Ireland, but have been to Blackpool many times, where I was fortunate enough to meet Freddie, and have a drink with him on Blackpool North pier. Very sad of his death!

Rip Freddie. Genius! Stayed with my Nana and Grandad when he did a fireman's charity night back in the 60's, my Nan thought the world of him and we would always troop off to the Futurist in Scarborough to see him in later years. Happy memories, legend!

@@ryanbrain6004 thank you Sir. I started writing a response to @Deano Essex with various examples of today's comedians doing exactly the opposite of what they call political correctness.... Then I realised that I really can't by arsed!

Saw him at Blazers, Windsor. He was brilliant. Had us all in stitches. One of the girls who worked there said that every night was different. Rene and Renata were one of the minor acts...did he give them some stick. We were still crying with laughter in the coach on the way home as we remembered parts of his act. Will be sadly missed.
