This monster 17kg+ pike was caught during European Fishing League, whilst fishing for perch.

Great pike, but can you really say 17kg+ when you have not weighed it. I have got big pikes (not this big) when I fish for perch and have no scale with me. Pikes that i really think is over 10kgs but i cant say 10+ because no scale. This pike i sure can agree with 10+ but not 15+ definitely not 17+. No scale no weight, but you still have the lenght. Tilte should be "Freddy Harbort 125cm Pike - FULL FIGHT"

I do believe it was 17+ though. Freddy had an even bigger pike the week before if I recall correctly. So it’s not like he doesn’t know his pike. :)

I agree. And weights are notoriously difficult to predict, especially when you've spent hours chasing fish FAR smaller. Pierre Monjarret's 127cm beast on Fly vs Jerk 10 looks just as bulky as this - but that only (ha. *only*) came in at 13.9kg. Helluva pike though!

What a wonderful pike, congrats! To know the weight you can use the tool "Fisch-Kalkulator", which is really accurate if the fish has "normal" proportions. If it is very thin or very fat, you will have to adjust. In this case the tool calculates 15 kg at 125 cm. Tight lines

Not 17 but probably 15-16 so still a nice fish

Yeah could be. She was quite sure around 16. But it's always hard to really know. I have caught fish in that length with 17+ as they are really heavy in this place. But I also caught some above 130 cm that were below 15 kg. I will best bring a scale next time :-D haha
