A Charlie Brown Christmas is repeated (but only for the 10th time), the Hail Mary NFL play, a look back at the year 1975 and much more. That's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, we like it.

Hindsight commonly wears a pair of rosy glasses. However, if ones focus is just on say, the economy, It has truly spiraled out of control and pushes kids today into an enormous amount of stress, which was not so prevalent in the past.🤔 Which of course begs the question of us that came before, WHY?

3:30 Ha ha, I feel bad for living in it. Can you imagine having to pay $200 for a record player that plays a record with 10 songs, many of them crap except the one hit wonder you bought it for, $5 to get each record? Nowadays, my phone plays thousands of awesome songs for free, with a video to boot, and on the go in the car. Oh, and my car runs on gas that I don't have to wait in line to buy, and my job pays enough to afford. It wasn't so great in 75. If you saw Jaws, that might be the only movie you saw the whole year. Nowadays you can watch movies 24 hours a day, for essentially free.

This is such bullshit! This must been posted by today's younger generation who knows nothing about living through the 70s as I was now that I'm 62. Now is not better by any means I don't care at what angle you want to approach this. Yeah thousands of songs to choose from today's stupid phone format of which produces the worst sound to listen to music.i prefer the rich Full sound not this cheap crazy tiny sound you get in these phones. Thanks to the internet and business like Amazon which destroyed malls and mom and pop stores across the country. Today mass shootings in just about everywhere people socialize. Not so back then, that's a small part to counter of what this guy is saying.

I’ll grab one of the many memories I have of the 70s, and I can immerse myself back to that moment as if I’m almost there. It’s like another dimension that was’nt real.Thank you for those precious times Lord. And all of those wonderful people you placed in my life who are now gone. This present time is a struggle. The difference is in what was being fed in our minds, which means we can recapture the same feelings that excited us by putting what feels good in our minds. This is how we can change this society that is scattered in a million pieces so we can reset it. I’m a dreamer but that’s where reality begins.

Dec 1975 seems like both yesterday and a million years ago. I graduated from college, got engaged, and got 14 job offers. My favorite movie of those listed here is Killer Elite. I watched the Cowboys win with my dad. We sure did yell when #12 Roger Staubach completed the one and only Hail Mary pass to #88 Drew Pearson. Later on we sat 2 pews behind the Staubach family at Mass. Very nice people and he really helped build Dallas with his commercial real estate company. Then I met Drew Pearson when he helped recruit new members for the Chamber of Commerce. Very kind person but he was heartbroken that he had not been placed in the Cowboys Ring of Honor. That did happen [finally!] before he passed away.
@dwaynecoy1871

Too bad it was offensive pass interference by Drew Pearson. I've watched the replay over and over and there is no way the Vikings defensive back just fell down, he was pushed. I'm sure you disagree, but that's OK. I accept that you'll never admit the truth. BTW, I was also a big admirer of Roger Staubach and ran into him on the street in SF in the early 90's, he was a very nice man.

Ahh man. Touches my heart watching this. But this was rough Christmas- I came down with the mumps and an awful fever. Was in bed for two weeks. Guess when it cleared up? The day before I went back to school. Haha. Remember the goofy Convoy song … always liked KC and the Sunshine Band. I remember the bowl season as well as that NFL playoff season. My Dad was a big Cowboy fan and we saw that Hail Mary live. I believe I watched the Fiesta Bowl from my sick bed, as well as South Carolina losing in the Tangerine. So despite being so sick - I remain nostalgic … because I was blessed to have a family around me all alive and well and a house full of love.

I'm not surprised Coca Cola sponsored the annual showing of Charlie Brown Christmas because in the original production of it they eventually had to remove the ads within the intro for Coke in subsequent showings! Totally agree about Equinox!!! Midnight Rider etc. Their first 4 albums on the Wooden Nickel Label ( prior to 1975) were also great, and more comparable to progressive rock bands like Yes in those years. When I was in 10 in 1977/1978 I was not too crazy about The Grand Illusion where their sound was more arena style. In fact, Come Sail Away on top 40 radio was a song that was overplayed back then, and I was more inclined to turn the dial.

Kids today can't possibly comprehend how we got by with only seven VHF TV channels, including the PBS station. In my area, you could get a couple of the UHF channels if the weather conditions were right and you had a good antenna. Nowadays, the selections are endless. Also, no smartphones; imagine that! Finally, cars that weren't a rolling plethora of computers complete with infotainment systems. Gee, how did we survive?

I was watching a youtube of the Cowsills special from 1969 with Buddy Ebsen and at the beginning they said "because of this special presentation Me and Mrs McCabe or something would not be seen tonight"... I think its the first time I saw one of those kind of things in a long, long time -- and then you had the Rhoda won't be seen -- that use to be a staple on television if there was a "special event" but now i guess they just figure you can see the grid and figure out something isnt on hahaha... I kind of miss those things in a weird way

@@betsyj59 The thing I've really noticed from watching these...is that the commercials had a certain charm to them, that is sorely missing today. I mean, these companies produced them without the knowledge that people would relive them years in the future. They had thought and creativity. Very few commercials today, will have the same appeal, 50 years from now.
