I am looking forward to taking this course. I work with children with autistic and behavioral disabilities. I came across this information after finding a website that was charging for a 40/hr. course on this topic. My research to find a similar or same course for free was became an answer to my prayers. I want to be my best and an educated person in the classroom. I found in regular class rooms there are some students that that appear to have related issues that did not seem to be diagnosed. I want to help these children and get them to a point where they can succeed in any right environment. This is the 1st step for me. So thank you A.P.F. for caring enough to give everyone an affordable choice to learn in a world of ever increasing mental and physical health issues. God bless your foundation for your effort to get the word out. Amen!

I've worked as a RBT for years and started the course out of curiosity - It's great! I loved the indepth info on shaping and that it covers more than is required for the RBT task list. Most of all, I love that it points the learner in the right direction to get more info.

Hello I am so sorry to bother you. I just need a little help. I also took this 40 hour training and I am getting stuck in the last module which is the wrapping up/congratulations. I took the quiz I put yes thinking that was the right answer. And now it just doesn't let me do it again. So I don't know what else to do. I sent the email to the APF and they might be answering withing 14 days. I AM SO CONFUSED. Maybe you could help me please. Thank you for your response.

From my experience so far, I go in circles trying to access the videos. It constantly is telling me to enroll when I have done so. After about an hour we finally pulled up first video. Book marked page. Went back later to watch video and says there is an error. Now I am back to trying to access videos again. Going in circles. This can't be productive at all. I appreciate the effort of it being free. But, just not practical to get training done efficiently.

Wow thank you guys so much! I literally was just looking at a website charging me $150 and I’m like man I don’t have that but want to take the training. Thanks 🙏🏽!!! I have a question if you or anyone can help me understand please because Even after reading the handbook I was a little confused I was just going to call them today. At which part do I do the supervision? Is this AFTER submitting the application? Or before I submit it? Also how many hours of supervision do I need? I really couldn’t find it in the book if someone can direct me please 😖😩 I kept going in circles to as though I was going to be the supervisor 🤷🏽♀️thanks for the help! :)!

As thankful as I am for this free course I don't recommend using it to pass your exam. Their syntax and diction is not easy to understand and they speak very fast and monotone. I recommend just getting through it and youtubing, "aba made easy clutch exam review" This short review taught me more than the actual 40 hour training. I could not immerse myself or comprehend anything in the 40 hour training.

Thank you! My thoughts exactly. I'm going to muddle through this 40 hour course, then utilize the exam review you listed. I'm having a hard time retaining the information in each module due to his over use of dialect that isn't necessary.

Hello, I've a question. I started the 40 hours RBT training. I know already that, when I finish the training, I'll have to sign in at the BABC page. I'm not sure if I should continue because my goal right now is train myself un DBT, I'm in a DBT group already. Should I continue the RBT training?

Good training but INFURIATING when you get three quarters of the way through a 1.5 hour module, get bumped off for whatever reason, and then have to start over from the beginning because it doesn't let you skip or fast forward at all, ever. I realize they don't want people just flying through the material, but in that case they should break the modules up into smaller components. I have wasted hours re-watching material and am close to throwing my hands up and quitting because of this issue.

Supply feedback to them if you want it to potentially be used to refine. The techniques help ensure mastery, I get it - but mastery is more important imho - best of luck

Yes, my 40 hour training has turned into a 60 hour training for this reason. I have been conducting the training on my lunch break and if I stop a session with 5, 10 or 1 minute left I have to start all over again. Beware, you get what you pay for.

Hi, maybe you can answer my question about RBT training. So I have signed up for the free training, but before I dive into anything I like to get all my facts straight first. After completing the 40hrs a person should look to do the competency assessment correct? And you do that by finding a certified supervisor, which you can do using the search engine that BACB website has? How does the whole assessment go about exactly? The website lists 3 methods for assessment and mentions the assessment can be conducted over one or more sessions, so is this assessment like a one time thing? Like I would just go in one day and practice with a client while the supervisor observes and that's it? If I fail to meet standards for the assessment for what ever reason, would I need to be assessed again during a different session?

I'm a paraeducator in an intensive needs program. I recently started this training and could not continue after the introduction and first module. The sales-pitchy tone throughout made me sick. PSA: Any ABA company that sites the Lovaas study as a success (as Justin so proudly does in module 1), you should stay away from. People think ABA is a cult, and are going to keep thinking that if companies like this don't stop being so gross. If your ABA isn't centered around empowering autistic children and LETTING THEM BE AUTISTIC, it has no place in society. ABA DOES NOT CURE AUTISM, NOR SHOULD IT.

@@TheDailyBA Why would I consume anything at all that makes claims of curing autism right out the gate? If ones criticism is only welcome after completing 40 hours of content, perhaps the content should not claim to be proud of autistic children becoming "indistinguisible" from their Neurotypical peers in module 1. How could they possibly redeem themselves after starting with that? I can't imagine how much abuse those Lovaas study kids went through in order to appear "normal". Yet it was a success apparently? How could that not infuriate anyone who cares about neruodiverse kids?

Certification is recognized at the national level, while some states may require additional qualifications. So it's usually a yes, but not always.

Wow I just failed my $650 RBT training class yesterday, Grade average was 85% but her requirements was 90% to pass lol silly me

Too bad the program will make you repeat hours of training if you don't watch each large section in one sitting.
