@@Mr.Cold777in a sense yes. You would need to use base sounds like woodwinds or wavetables that can be used to synthesize very acoustic sounding instruments. But you would need to learn how to use a wave table synthesizer. Give it a few days to try out. Vital is very interesting to use and I’ve had a lot of fun just opening it up and messing around on my free time.

@@Mr.Cold777 yes but it requires either samples or physical modelling. Imo the only true way to get Instrument sounds is to play them yourself or spend 2 hours doing the midi, it's all great having the high quality instruments but it's not going to matter if it sounds fake due to poor programming. Imo making an instrument sound real is more about understanding how it's played as opposed to what synth is making the noise, especially since processing can drastically help with sound

Yeah i got The Riser, LOOM, Vacuum and the Creative FX thing for like 15 bones on Christmas a few years back and a midi keyboard i had came with XPand so that was cool

it's not hard to work with the AIR synths tbh tho, like shouldn't be too hard to just make the jit yourself

@@debrabardensteele9942 Every sample based instrument is massive, what do you expect? Storing actually high quality samples that covers multiple octaves aint cheap. Its either that or you get one note that has to be handled by stretching but that won't pitch nicely in low or high octaves

Not fully, Serum has some better FX and it's oscillators handle sound differently to Vital. Vital is also missing several wavetable making/manipulation things

I have both and no it's not. Xpand is great for preset hunting but deep editing is a no no.

@@lancegfoin9117 imo XPand is much nicer to use than Omnisphere and much cheaper storage wise. Omnisphere is great but for what i do i find it doesn't really come into play sicne if want to synthesize sounds ill just use other synths that do what i want better and if i need a sampler Ableton already handles samples well but XPand and Kontakt do everything else for the most part

Ableton handles audio better than FL does and also has M4L, which lets you do some funky stuff that's like Patcher but crazier. It's mostly a workflow thing at the end of the day, i've heard a lot of people say that Ableton handles electronic production better and FL handles Rap stuff and whilst i don't agree fully, FL's workflow is much better for a rap producer since it's a lot more like a sketchpad but Ableton is much more about organisation

I would say it's ok but I would not buy it at full price

@@lancegfoin9117 Xpand 2 is not general MIDI, i don't know who told you it was just using the GM Soundset, it's just that Omnisphere is closer to just being a normal synthesiser as opposed to a sampler. Honestly Omnisphere is great but i feel most users don't even get the most out of it anyways

@@illford I suppose I see it as GM because it has a great library of preset sounds but you can't do much with them, unlike Omnisphere - like I said, I have both.
