Simplified Version is a series of videos in which I play and transcribe what I think is the bare minimum to play on the bass. I will focus on the "core" of the bass line i.e what makes the song unique when taking out fills, variations and unnecessary ghost notes (which are great, don't get me wrong!).
The tabs are made for those who do not want to learn the entire song note by note but want the general idea.
This will help you whether you are a beginner, have a lot of songs to learn for a gig or just want to play your own variation!

Just a quick, but huge thanks for this. Our band debuted last night and ended with this. It went down a storm and had everyone standing and cheering at the finale - proper "bring the house" down encore. It was supposed to be a gentle trial gig, but we still got 4 new paid gigs out of it and two promoters interested in us. Thanks so much for the help mate - more than anything else online, this might have taken us up to the next level. Cheers - I owe you a beer or two!

Enfin une vidéo qui explique de manière simple et efficace la ligne de basse de Free Bird ! Les tabs sont très bien détaillés et m'ont permis de comprendre les nuances de la chanson. Merci beaucoup pour ce partage, je vais sûrement m'entraîner avec pour améliorer mon jeu de basse.

Just started on this one for the encore with our band. I looked at Leon's original and thought "sod that". Really glad you put this up mate - though I think I'll still probably come up to the dusty end for that big climax rather than stay low like your good self. Cheers Mate

This is precisely the point of these "simplified versions" !! I'm so glad that you find it usefull. Sometimes when you try to learn a song, you can find very complexe tabs and it can be a bit discouraging (espacially with very long songs like this one !) but here you can have the a general overview of what the bass is doing a do your own stuffs on it ! Enjoy :)

@@mattedjon-veryaccuratetabs Mate - it was the full chords under the break. I can play with a pick, but prefer fingers and I just thought that part would be an absolute nightmare! Freebird is supposed to kill the guitarists not the bass player! 😄

It would seem that this is the live version because the original album recording fades out. This big ending would have only been played live. Right?
