They all say that they wanted it badly enough. Maybe the real talent is for song writing. Unfortunately the era of rock stars is over. You can get any music for free on the internet. New performers need to compete with the old groups. I just play my guitar for my own personal enjoyment.

Julian Foster … Niskayuna NY. On the lead guitar.. He was INCREDIBLE.. also his fellow band mates they were just mind boggling good.. they blew the place up and people of all ages were crying it was so good. The principle was rocking out( he was literally grinning from ear to ear. These kids are all under super pressure at that school it’s a very intensely academically rigorous place. Their talent is reflective of how hard the kids in the schools there work. He is immensely talented.

It's official in my book....the '13 Niskayuna Seniors DO ROCK! OK...this was June 2013. I grad. hi school in Arizona in '73....so what is that...40 years earlier. Free Bird came out just a few months after I grad. hs in '73....and I saw the original band Lynyrd Skynyrd do it live in different shows maybe 5 or 6 times during the years after that. I've heard Free Bird probably 200K times in my life since, and I STILL dig it. And I'll be honest....when that redhaired lead guitar player hit those particularly tough licks at around 5:25....the hair on my 67 yr. old arms came STRAIGHT UP, I'm not joking. Those guys nailed it pretty damn good.....especially for 17-18 yr. olds. Man, I'm glad I surfed into this! Hopefully they ALL got laid that night.....and have all gone onto the sane and steady pursuit of their dreams as now mid to late 20's men...likely with families. God Bless that entire school. So wonderful to see guys so much younger that dig the heavy rock we Boomers burned lotsa ganga to then, lol.

Great stage presence! Not over the top showmanship, but they demand respect from the audience. Nobody left that performance untouched by their magic. Anybody know what happened to these guys?

Everyone would like to hear them again. It was PHENOMENAL. People were proud of them . The administration in stage was blown away rocking out reservedly.

The school band played this song at my cousins graduation in 2019 in Deer Lodge Montana. I think the parents and teachers appreciated it more than the students. Great job guys

this made me cry. the joy on their faces, their incredible talent, the bittersweet venue that is a high school graduation... can't imagine how cool and proud they must have felt performing this for their peers, parents, and teachers. they absolutely smashed it!!! Beautiful video

I really like how the bassist is acting almost the same as the original on the live version, its a different Time and its still the big man of the group rocking out while playing the bass 🙂

Normally I don't like this song because I've overheard it so many times but these kids are really good and I even caught myself bobbing my head up and down as they started jamming. Very good job and props to the drummer. You need a good drummer to keep the beat going.

Great job! I lived up there back then. My most recent "viral" video is also "Free Bird" and the analytics indicated that this was one of the videos people would watch before and after, so they fed each other. Jeesh, these "kids" would be in their late 20's now. Awesome to finally find the match to my band's performance video. Rock on, and I hope they're still performing.
