It’s time to hit the road and commence one of Australia’s most iconic road trips, crossing the Nullarbor and the Great Australian Bight.
We’ll be continuing our epic week of travel between Perth, Western Australia and Bordertown, South Australia as we race our way towards Port Melbourne and the Spirit of Tasmania, dodging hotspots and restricted areas as we go.
We set off from Kalgoorlie, the gold capital of Western Australia, and travel 690km to Cocklebiddy along the Nullarbor Plain. Then a further 680km to Penong, crossing the South Australia border and quarantine checkpoint in Ceduna.
We stay at the Melrose show grounds in country South Australia, with the beautiful backdrop of Mount Remarkable, then overnight at Bordertown before transiting through Victoria to board the Spirit of Tasmania for a 430km sail to Devonport.
It’s a huge week of travel through some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes and we can’t wait to share it with you!
Let us know your travel recommendations and if you have any questions or comments, pop them below. We look forward to seeing you next week for another family travel road trip adventure!

Super excited for tomorrow's live!! Q1: . Why do you not use a microwave? I noticed our wonderful DoTerra oils are stored there which is fabulous but still curious. Q2: I also would like to know how you survive together in a confined space? Q3: What is your average towing speed throughout your journey? Cheers Tanja M :)

Hi Paul, Katie & Jasper. We have watched all of your episodes from the beginning. You do a lot of research, the info is succinct and valuable, we watch your vids multiple times to plan our trip up north. We do watch other KZfaq caravanning families and find your one on the VERY best- well researched, succinct, present the info on camera professionally, music choice is fine, drone footage is great, & you don’t blab on and on and on. QUESTION 1: What do you do to interact/connect/be part of the locals/the old timers/the indigenous? To hear their stories, & relay them to us. There is a lot of focus on US enjoying our time. When I travel I always have a conversation with people/townsfolk. QUESTION 2: Time permitting talk more about the Ce-Fi Booster by Nextivity. From your help we installed a Cel-Fi GO G31 model for our trip up north. Perhaps talk about having a second set of 2 antennas in the caravan (tho you already answered this question via PM). Cheers Allan & Jaya.

Great episode Paul, Katie and Jasper, it brings back some memories. I last travelled across the Nullabor plains in 1984, we stayed at Nullarbor Homestead one night, then Kalgoorlie the following night then onto family in Bentley Perth before returning home to Casino, NSW. Our youngest child was then 3 years old. Children just love this kind of travel.

Love the episode - especially the Nallarbor Numph - what an amazing story! Q&A: 1. What do you do in areas where there is no mobile reception? Do you use a signal enhancer? 2. When travelling around Aus, do you think vehicle insurance with roadside assistance is essential? 3. How long in advance to you plan your travels/episodes? 4. What is your one “must have” pantry item?

Awesome to have you guys here in Tassie with us! Here are some Q&A questions: 1. You guys seems to very rarely do free camping, even for overnighters. Is there any reason for that? 2. How do you guys get through your grumpy days or moments, days when you all just need some time out, unless of course you are always happy? (Having only 1 kid is an obvious bonus in not having to deal with fighting/arguing kids). And if you happen to be in the Tamar Valley region, drop us a line, we'd love to show you some of our favourite spots. I (Dwayne) used to work with Nikk M. so she can vouch for me. Ha!

Being an ex-member of WA Police Major Crash, vehicle crashes between the Boarder Village and Kalgoorlie are a regular occurrence. Majority caused by fatigue, wheels just moving onto the gravel verge, with driver over reacting, reefing the steering wheel then its all over. I attended to many fatalities and serious crashes along there. You stay safe and secure.

Hi Gary, we realised we had totally underestimated how huge WA is, so decided not to rush the south west. We’re already planning a return to WA for another season 😊👍

Q&A just wondering, as full-time youtubers, do you have much contact with other Australian creators who also travel full-time and maybe share great spots to stay at? I also follow kzfaq.info Keep up the awesome videos!

So sick of seeing travellers going on about fuel prices. I have never felt ripped off in the bush.

Audio terrible in the car, too much road noise. Also why are you rushing your way around Australia. I watched all your videos and you are travelling 500km and more per day.Why?.What's the rush.?

Hi Leanne Churches, thank you for taking the time to comment. Yes, you are right, the audio in car is pretty average…. We spoke with WA roads department and they said no to re-tarring their roads unfortunately! 😅 so we have decided to wear personal microphones now for better audio while traveling. We have been traveling full time on the road now for over 2 years and we still haven’t completed a lap… so no rush really most days, some are 100km some are 700km, depends on what happens to plans each week. Keep smiling 😊👍
