They can also catch the bus. The 51 and the 20 both go from the Jack London area to Alameda landing through the Posey Tube …. But I’m just a bus operator so what do I know 😂😂😂 But by it being free and taking more than 2-3 bike at a time I guess it makes sense

The staten island ferry that goes from battery park in nyc to Staten Island is also free. It’s a great way to get from either Burroughs

As long as there is a Coast Guard Island there will be no span across the Estuary. The US government made the cut for Coast Guard island. That is why the tubes are there.

I lived in Alameda for many years and made a lot of trips thru the tube on a bike. Definitely a test of endurance and grit, makes you appreciate fresh air and quiet. What a great idea. What's up with all the haters and their helpful comments?

Jack London Square sucks! Miss them old day's when it had the Spaghetti Factory, TGIF, El Toritos, and Kincaids to have dinner with the family and the Sunday buffets at El Toritos

Not really. You also have a Regal movie theater, a bowling alley and a Yoshi's restaurant that does live jazz shows. That district is a very popular destination in Oakland.

LMFAO ! Nothing is free. Ya, start out free till the grant money is gone or the little boat gets so crowded and you have to wait, then they will start charging at some point once they have the crowd reliant on the little ferry. Bay area ferry is 14-15 Dollers and is now raising its fee. The Bay Area bridges were once 25 cents to cross Now there 7 dollers to cross, who are you trying to fool. ?
