I think he was exhausted. Eating those shots, panicking out of sub attempt after sub attempt in the first round while constantly trying to escape a full mount or near full mount. I think it was his instinct to try to catch his breath but it ended up taking him back down to the mat.
@ShovelChef
@ShovelChef 5 жыл бұрын
Garrett Gross pretty much fell into a clinch in the second round, maybe because he didn't vary his striking techniques enough. Driving punches, instead of more patient combos, got his head literally grabbed mid punch. Gross connected a punch and got a little overexcited. Meanwhile Roberts still had the reach advantage, and slipped most of those punches. I wonder how he would've done on kick combos, make Roberts have to think a little harder for a takedown. It might've saved Gross only a minute or two, or it might've saved him a whole round. That said, Gross's defense on the ground wasn't bad. He just got exhausted. And a little outplayed. With a grappler closer to his size, it would've been a more interesting matchup.

Would you not be more inclined to buy fight pass by watching a good fight and not by reading the title of a video? Doesn't really make any sense at all. There's no good reason for it, it's just the people running the channel clearly don't know how youtube works.

Garrett Gross had his Jaw broken at the very end of the 1st or sometime in the first. Then still comes out and almost took his head off in the second round til he got to close to, Roberts and ended up in the clinch. Too bad the jaw was broken or maybe he would've kept his distance after throwing those good shots in the 2nd round. That had to be extremely painful, but he came out for round 2 anyway. I don't believe Roberts is the better of the 2 fighters honestly.
