for the record, Chris Evans was filming for the show Defending Jacob not to far away from where Ryan was and so Ryan called and asked. Chris was busy but if they could have him in and out in 10 mins then it was alright, and they did just that. there is a youtube video explaining it and other stuff too.

As a game dev student the reflection thing was my favorite detail, that’s actually a thing

I was pleasantly surprised how good this movie was and the movie having a lot of heart. Yeah there were some inaccuracies of how video games work but it’s also hard to be mad when you can tell this movie was made to be fun and make people laugh, not JUST a cash cow. At the end of the day it’s a really cheesy script but I think the performers and cast really drive this film. Ryan and Rel bring a lot of heart to the film and Taika really makes the villain role feel alive and not just generic corporate scumbag. But most surprising is how this movie is marketed the way that it is, with Ryan as the lead, but it’s all driven and rooted in the underlying romance plot. I usually roll my eyes at the obligatory romance plots but Joe Keery and Jodie Comer did some HEAVY lifting and made them likable. I’m reallyyyy surprised and glad this movie was a lot of fun.

My girlfriend and I were able to see it early in the form of an advanced screening. My expectations were honestly shattered and the "cameo" made the theater cheer like I haven't heard since Endgame. Glad you all got to react to it.

Fun fact...the version of Mariah Carey's "Fantasy" when Guy jumped off the bridge was actually sung by Jodie Comer, the actress who played Millie/Molotov Girl.

I loved how different this was to "Ready Player One", yet used some of the same elements. Big budget virtual reality incorporating pop culture visual gags.

It was being filmed during the acquisition and asked Disney if they could add in Marvel and SW items and Disney was like, "Use whatever you want."

I remember being in the theater seeing the back of the shield like "Wait, that looks like--" Then I heard the music exclaiming "No They Didn't!" Then I flat out SCREAMED when Chris Evan popped up. Definitely one of my most memorable theater experiences.

The Masked Character in the Alley was played by Hugh Jackman, and the bank Robber that got shot was voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

The slow version of "Fantasy" as Guy is running across the bridge is sung by Jodie Comer. Not only a great actress but also has a beautiful voice too.

To the think how she kissed the Guy. I think they said in the movie that Guy's AI was writing the code by itself, so it litterally made the buttong for the kiss. Then when the girl got the code she found the way to "kiss" the Guy.

The guy who directed this also directed the Night At The Museum films among other things. This film was charming AF

I love how Chris Evans manages to steal the entire movie in under 3 seconds. :)

I have watched that ' Shield scene ' a bit too many times now but I still can't get over it

This was a fun movie to see in theaters. Probably the most underrated of 2021 honestly haha the ending got extra corny but it worked perfectly.

When I watched this one in the theater, I was laughing my butt off! And a couple of guys that were sitting a couple rows away, moved back to where I was sitting and said "You mind if we come back here? Cause you're at least laughing out loud and having a good time." So we all watched the rest of the movie together - and laughed our butts off!!!

You can tell these guys are good friends because they're always finishing each others' ERIC.

I think what made this movie work is the surprising amount of heart it had. Wasn't expecting to feel anything but damn did that ending make me tear up a little.

This rewatch I’m reminded of Wall-E, in the fact that he was able to awaken the AI of all the other robots.

Man this is a fun movie. Not really how games work but still fun. I found the premise of the dev's storyline being like the plot of Tron pretty funny. And I was the only one in the theater shouting out when Cap's shield came out. I hear there's going to be a sequel but I'm not sure I'd be interested in that.

Yesss! The way I RAN when I saw you reacted to this. It has to be one of my favorite movies.

With the ending being a love story the thing I really liked about this film is that it’s only really a love story for the last 5mins. Other than that it is pretty much a completely original IP with no real similar storyline. That is extremely rare these days.

There's just so many layers, the Avengers theme, the fact that they can do that because Fox was bought by Disney, the fact that Deadpool referenced the Avenger multiple times, the Star Wars theme as well... I really wish she sang the song to awaken Guy instead of kissing. Since it was kinda what awakened him in the first place. I thought that’s what was gonna happen but then she kissed him and it confused me because of the line earlier. Also tbh it felt like almost all the stuff outside of the game had a different director or something. It was hard for me to watch some of it, but I really enjoyed the movie regardless, especially the stuff inside the game.

They brought them in and recreated their setups. The Beyond the Trailer girl did an interview with a couple of the streamers in the movie.
