I can tell that you are a very secure young person….One thing I have always noticed is that most cab wrappers go to many lengths to hide from the viewer how the back is done, or you are told never to share the back. Thank you so much for sharing with beginners what the back is all about!, I have become a follower, even though I have been wrapping for years, because I believe you can teach me a thing or two. Look forward to all those videos you will be posting. FYI, you have lovely hands!!. 🙏🏼

I am so happy to see someone who doesn't finish with "curly cues" (I don't know the technical term). IMO, nothing ruins a beautifully wrapped piece more than a series of curls and coils all over the place. I love how clean, elegant and hip your designs are.

I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how to make the back as sweet as the front and lo! I stumble across your tutorial. THANK you. When you filmed this, how long were you doing this for? The level of quality and the difference in craftsmanship between your early pieces and to the point of this video is astounding! My wire wrapping front and back look like the old backs you did. Come to find out, I was using the wrong wire this whole time and likely the reason I gave up on trying to wire wrap anything. But today, I received some square 18g wire and some square 26g wire and I can ALREADY tell that there is a MASSIVE difference! So that being said, I can’t wait to be your student this weekend! Thank you for taking the time to explain such a critical part of making a fine piece of jewelry! You are so very appreciated!!!! ❤

You are so awesome. You talk about and teach us things no other artist bothers about and to me the back COUNTS. This is one thing that kind of holds me back from really working hard to sell. I'm a perfectionist and also tend to over think. I figure if I wouldn't wear something because of a messy confused back no one will. Kinda looks like you gave up halfway or tired out at the end so you did just what ever worked. You know I say if artist won't show the back it's a mess. Anyway thanks so much and as I said glad I found you and keep your beautiful work coming!!!❤❤🙏😊➿➿➿➿➿➿

@MithrilArtsandJewelry
@MithrilArtsandJewelry 3 жыл бұрын
I don't have exact measurements but If you are planning to wrap the frame, you should at least leave a gap in between the stone and frame. If you can fit an 18 or 20 GA in between the gaps on each side, then it will be perfect.

@MithrilArtsandJewelry
@MithrilArtsandJewelry 2 жыл бұрын
You're most welcome! For me, it will be easier to use half hard for this type of frame especially if you're a beginner. Because if you use dead soft, chances are you'll be tugging the wires more around it which results to warping. 16 and 18 ga half hard are a good place to start. Good luck!

Since this is a beginner tutorial, need more information on how to determine length of wires to use. Also, speed is higher when tucking in wires. I'm trying to learn and it's going a little fast for me to see how to tuck. Thanks for tutorial.
@MithrilArtsandJewelry
@MithrilArtsandJewelry 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. I didn't include the length of wires because it will depend on the size of your stone. It will be totally up to you. This is just a guide on how to create frames and backs. And for the speed, there's an option on KZfaq to slow it down. Look for it on the options/settings to 0.25 speed. Hope that helps and thank you for watching! :)

How do i estimate how long i should cut the wire. I have small square gem or small dog paw pendant. I like to wrap. I like minimal style
@MithrilArtsandJewelry
@MithrilArtsandJewelry Жыл бұрын
Hi! I don't really have an exact answer for that as it will really depend on the stones that you use and the size of your frame. So far, what works for me is drawing the design as close to the size of the actual piece. From there I can gauge how long my wires will be. Also I work in sections most of the time so I don't really use long wires. Try to experiment and see what works for you. Good luck!
