Freedivers enjoy the water at a Norwegian Navy training facility in Bergen, Norway. The tank is 18 METERS deep. If you wonder about ears hurting: google "equalize ears".

I'd be that guy who opens the little door at the 11 meter mark from the other side and all the water starts coming out...
@GoProXadventures7 жыл бұрын
greg77389 If the door opens outward into the tank then there is NO way you'd be able to open with your own strength. The whole weight of the water is holding it closed
@greg773897 жыл бұрын
GoProXadventures Indeed, I'd have to exert about 3 tons of force on the edge of door to get it to budge under 11 meters of water. I did the math... However, if I used a long enough lever, it would be easily doable.
@GoProXadventures7 жыл бұрын
greg77389 If the door opened inward, how much pressure would it need to withstand? Nice math btw
@greg773897 жыл бұрын
About 108kPa (about one atmosphere of pressure) (density of water) * (acceleration due to gravity) * (depth) = (1000kg/m^3) * (9.81m/s^2) * (11m) = 107,910 Pascals of pressure
@GoProXadventures7 жыл бұрын
greg77389 Wouldn't that mean that the pressure is about equal on both sides? I would think the pressure outside the container is around 1 atmosphere. Common sense tells me that the water pressure and atmospheric pressure are nowhere close to equal in this situation.

I had the same question to post. I used to spearfishing since very young, then life took turns, family, work, travel, but i still used to dream about it. Now, at 61, and still very fit, came back to my country to live in the same neighborhood where everything started once. I do not use arpoon any longer but when snorkling around I am still able to go down 13 meters and stay a while. Can't force too much though. At 61, and diving alone, we never know what might happen. Good dive!

+Natalie Mayleigh 18 meters is actually nothing, if you train for one or two days you could most likely go that deep, i spearfish at 32 meters and that is nothing, the world record is 103 meters
@hoofhearted10008 жыл бұрын
+Natalie Mayleigh it's only 60 feet when you do the conversion. Pretty much anybody with a little training can reach these depths without much effort. Once you hit around 75 feet you start to need different methods to clear your ears, but anything before that is pretty attainable.

@theharrisfamilyteamharris32178 жыл бұрын
+ali alkandari I mostly spearfish at 25 - 28 meters I agree with you 18 meters especially in a controlled environment like a pool is a far cry from being Impressive if you're a freediver. I mean there's no current, bad visibility, low water temps, or sharks to deal with. Nothing that would even remotely raise your heart rate. My 8yr old daughter follows me when I'm diving shallow for lobster and she makes dives to 14 meters all day long.

@birdboy999999999 the pressure in 15m is like 3 bar or 3 atm, its not a lot, and he used a breathing technique which normally people use who do 100m free diving, it is very possible to go 17-18m just by holding the breath and doing slow efficient movements and decomprimation.
