Great to see this sport is still alive and well. I used to have ferrets as a kid in Australia, Dad and I would go to various places on weekends and come home with a good catch most times. I remember that the pole cats were better workers than the creams. You could hear the rabbits like thunder under ground when the ferrets went into the burrow. We used to tuck the ends of the nets down the hole a bit so the rabbit trod on it before hitting it. When the Ferret bit either the rabbit or you, the only way to make it let go was to spit on its nose, my grandfathers trick. Many good days, a long time ago.

They are like any animal, they need food and water every day, a nice dry place to live, and cleaned out daily. They do smell a little musky, but they are not to bad. All mine live outside though.

ahh cheers people been trying to put me off about getting them but im going to get 1 then go from there

im thinking about getting a ferret or 2 do they need alot of attention and looking after also iv heard they smell bad?

how do you kill them when you have netted them?

Might of been easier putting long nets around, save you time setting and lifting purse nets. Garry +blast whitby

With sets so big. Why don't you set a couple of long nets mate. Lot less hassle and less noise above the holes.

Just break their necks, of use a fast running dog to catch them as they bolt.
