This turquoise was from Neil, which he collected in Arizona and sent to me when I mentioned in a video. He has stared a YT channel. Check it out.

I have some other polishes, but more to this story - I got water in my flat lap motor, so 1200 grit was as far as I could go. I have since replaced the motor and will only use that machine as a saw from now on. The problem is the motor sits vertical, directly under the table and water can find its way down the pin. It has a washer that is supposed to flick water away when the saw is running, but dirt can jam it up. As a saw, the pin is horizontal. Instead, I now have bought a slat lap.

I bought this machine used and it is an older model. Probably, not fair to the company and viewers to review because what people can now buy is different.

Maybe if he actually mailed good pieces..

I was the same. I took a one day course at a rock shop. Spent all day making a cab. I should have taken a video there.

With this kind of lap, the most time is cleaning and changing out the blades. It would be nice to do it outside and clean with a hose. Doing a large number of rocks with each grit before changing the blades is probably the way to go.

I had seen someone demonstrate at a rock show. Never tried it nor know anyone that has one. Maybe you will be the first? Instead, I just got myself a slant lap from Robert Hall Originals. I took a one day cabbing course with him in January and I got the same machine as int the course.

I think that would be a great idea. I probably made those beads with the worst kind of rock to try (banded iron).

I ran into problems knowing what blade was what grit, until I marked them with permanent marker.

@@meMiner I just know in the metal world when you are doing fine polishing you can't cross contaminate wheel compounds or materials because of the different abrasive qualities of the particles.If you have stainless dust, it could get impregnated in softer materials and destroy finish. Different world though.

@@MOTOMINING Makes sense. Just like tumbling. Don't mix rocks of various hardness, especially if you want the softer ones to succeed.

@@meMiner Yes, we tumble parts too! Same deal but I think centrifugal polishers are even more sensitive.

I am not good enough to do it for selling.

I bought mine used and it wasn't very expensive. It is an older model, so probably not appropriate to list. I just bought a new slant lap and would feel more comfortable reviewing it, once I have used it for a short while.
