Exactly. They’ve had a monopoly on mainstream discourse for ages. The thing about the mainstream is that eventually, it becomes ‘cool’ to go against the grain, resulting in that rebellious attitude slowly becoming the new mainstream, rinse and repeat. I believe that’s how they got this monopoly in the first place, and I also believe it’s why we’re seeing more and more vocal opposition towards them. Slowly but surely it’s becoming not only socially acceptable, but even ‘cool’, to trash their causes. There’s nothing they can do about it, and they’re struggling to come to terms with that since they’re mostly insane control freaks.

Any person exposed to process of costume designing could tell that it was a censorship, at least in case of that bunny costume. Addition of another type of fabric went against original idea of single fabric design. That was whole point of that costume design. To be made the most simple way, from one type of fabric as contrast to all other intricate designs.

Technically they did not reinstate the original uncensored versions of some of the existing outfits they just added a couple of new variants of them that have the censored bits removes. This is a big win but we still wish to have to have the gore and and outfits returned to the way they are on the unpatched disc version.

They did not uncensor the outfits from the day 1 patch. They added some new outfits that look similar to ones that were censored. I love the new outfits but still want them to undo the censorship.

I think it was a good solution. There is a chance someone actually liked the more modest costumes, and removing it from them would have been about as bad as the removal of the originals. Just hitting different people.

@@linusgustafsson2629 If that was the concern, they still could've undone the changes for the original one, and add the censored ones as an variant or an toggle in the option. That would be a good solution, but what we've got is alternative outfits which are more in line with the original ones, but still different color and details, so if you geniunly liked the OG ones, you still will miss out and they still kinda sold you something differently then advertised (and with claiming beforehand nothing gets censored). Also as some others already pointed out and i checked that myself, the new free costumes - the ninja ones, also are toned down. They reduced the transparancy so you can't see much of the backside (which is so wild too me considering there exist costumes, where you can see literal more... it seems like someone really dislikes if a costume is suggestive...). So it feels more like one step forward but also one step backward.

As a curvy, busty woman, the jiggle factor is real and should be normalized in things like video games. Women should not be expected to have all the right curves and zero jiggle. It doesn’t work that way. I was always embarrassed by the jiggles because I couldn’t do anything about it and other kids would pick on me. It’s just natural. I love the jiggle factor and will defend any creator’s right to have jiggles in their game to the end.

Been these obvious lies for eternity. I still remember years back as Scarlet Blade MMO was being released, and they said "We MUST censor this 21 year old girl with B-cups because she is only 165 cm tall, but don't worry, it will be barely noticable" and then the results were that she was turned into a gray robot from head to toe. (Because a 21 year old girl with B-cups and 165 cm tall, is a child, but a robot of the exact same dimensions is not). In the end they "compromised" with throwing on hexagonal censorship patches on crotch and thighs and stomach and breasts, so it looked like it was a human who just happened to have nano-suit parts which couldn't get invisible on all the lewd parts of a woman. And still to this date, I don't understand why they did it to a 21 year old B-cup character who was 165 cms tall, just because the other women were D-cupers with 180cm height. It's like "If you compare the amazons with this normal woman, she looks like a child, so then we must fix it". I pointed out to them early on that for some reason we can hand Barbies to kids, and they can be undressed to be fully nude. But this adult woman who looked like a barbie, was somehow a risk legally because barbie formed women look like children.

The sign was caused by an algorithm putting them in random places it's an accident they never intended. The gore was never removed performance mode removes some gore to keep the game running 60 fps the "removed gore" vids and shots are taken from that. I know because I have the game.

They showed the gore in the trailers and publicly stated there would be no censorship. They reneged on both promises , which is the same as breaking a contract. In which case, the customer should at least get their money back, and at most be able to sue the vendor. I could care less why they broke the contract, I only care that they did.

For them, objectifying themselves for money seems to be perfectly fine (regardless of the later consequences). But when games offer simple fan service (enjoyed by both genders), that does no harm, then they're going crazy for some reason. Also, if Eve in Stellar Blade were gay and looked like a trans person, they would celebrate it. Because that's what they want to see in as many games as possible. Sure, there are also prudish people and people who look like a "Piccaso painting" who complain, but most people who complain are just hypocrites who are very negative about anything that they don't like. And more discourse also brings them more “clicks” (at least in the beginning).

They and the creator claim it was their "original intent" with the altered designs but you notice it's conveniently done via a mandatory patch at the last possible minute before release. Censored or not, they clearly advertised it *for years* one way as a selling point, then change it upon release. "Design point" my @$$. 🙄

Imo I think Sony told them to make the changes or miss their release window at the eleventh hour, adding the fact that anyone who misses that release window tends to get forgotten. They would have lost much more had they missed that window. Sony are tyrannical always have been.

I suspect it was the usual case of beta feedback. They had a few beta testers complain that the costumes didn't look good and suggested removing the high cuts, more texture around breasts, etc. and the feedback team passed it on to the designers who made the adjustments to make it more realistic/detailed. Sadly beta feedback never passes by the beta testers themselves. If they had taken this a handful complained about and asked the other beta testers, they probably would have said "no we liked the high cuts and revealing boobs" and no changes would have been done. It happened when I was in beta for Sword Girls once. About 3 people out of 200 complained they didn't like the card art of one card, so they replaced it. About 50 did like the card art however, so it was a huge complaint storm after they changed it, but since they had paid money to change it, and told the Korean developers the card art had to go, they couldn't go back on the changes. The lesson companies need to learn is to not take minority feedback in beta tests, and pass these questions about redesign to more players.

There is no removed gore the person who took those videos and shots played the game on performance mode. That removes some effects including gore ones to keep the game running at 60 fps. I know I have the game it really confused me when people said that since I wasn't seeing it. On the other hand I strongly recommend sticking to performance mode unless you like frame drops in the middle of boss fights.

Censorship is a lie. Not needed. Never was. If people don't like the content, there's literally millions of other games out there. This goes from the debate over whether a character's design should defy the laws of physics for how body parts work (not just for female characters) to cultural norms from different countries. Accept that the world is a very big place full of a lot of different people who think differently than you do over everything. Learn that in spite of the differences, people can still come together and have fun with a game even if they disagree about different parts of the game.
