The day is here y'all! Freestyle Libre 2 has an app, but at this time it's just for iOS (sorry to my Android friends).
In the USA, we have been waiting for the Freestyle Libre 2 app for over a year. Now that it's finally here, we have some answers. I'll remove my Freestyle Libre 2 sensor and show you how to put on the new sensor, and then a short walkthrough of the app.
Some things to know about the Freestyle Libre 2 App:
-You will need to log in with the account you created for the original Freestyle Libre app.
-The app is very similar to the 14-day iPhone/iOS app, but now you can set optional alarms.
-Urgent alarms are not optional, or adjustable on iOS, but you can adjust regular low and high alerts, and signal loss alerts as you desire.
-Alarms will bypass any do not disturb functions you have set
-You cannot use both the reader and the iPhone app at the same time as you could with the 14-day system. Don't start your sensor with the reader if you intend to use your phone.
-Overall, the app gives you similar information to the 14-day system and is extremely familiar.

Thank you for making this video! I am a pharmacist, and these new devices perplex me. Drug companies used to send sales representatives (aka “drug reps”) out to pharmacies to show off their new stuff and educate us about them. They don’t do that any more. Thank you so much for your video… I have had Type 2 Diabetes for 10 years and have always hated the needle pricks the most. I watched another video before yours that showed how to do it but it didn’t mention the iOS app at all. So for my next sensor I will be switching to the app for sure. Thanks again, sometimes its easy to get down about our struggles with Diabetes but seeing you smile and show how easy it was, definitely gave me confidence and made me smile as well. I’m just now getting serious about a sensor. I like the idea of continuous monitoring. And thanks for explaining that the needle is only the insertion mechanism for the little fiber “wire” that reads the blood glucose continuously. I thought that big needle stayed in your skin!!! Can you see why I didn’t want a sensor??? YIKES!!

Thank you so much. I was just prescribed the Freestyle Libre 2. I am not ok with needles but with diabetes you have to get over that. I have been scared to put the FL2 on. I was scared to do it incorrectly and end up wasting an expensive sensor. I love your video! lovely video. thanks for taking out time to make it to help others. I'm using Libre sensor with Blucon Nightrider to get automatic readings without scanning the sensor also there is a feature FOOD INSIGHT which also helps me to know what food i should add and eliminate from my the diet. Blucon helped me to maintain my A1c, no pricking and scanning is required

I liked your all videos. You really did a great job. For me scanning would have always been a tedious task so I every time look for the options where I do not need to scan my sensor. I'm using Blucon on top of my sensor which gives me readings without scanning the sensor. It has more features than Libre 2. for Libre 2 we have to scan each time to get even readings after alarms but with my blucon it gives me all readings of HI/LO alarms without scanning it.

Is there a Diabetes Educator your doctor can set you up with? If you live in the US there is the American Diabetes Association in large cities or you can call them. They have a lot of easy reading materials they can send you. I wish you the best. It is a lot of information and not just the Freestyle Libre2.

Yes! I have a terrible time removing the cap containing the sensor. It's a struggle 100% of the time. Once done, though, everything about this system is miraculous. The variations of readings compared to my glucometer seem to level off periodically and become to near agreement. Hope I'm making sense.🤔
